Old BSV fic Mar 18 2010 07:41 am #1JMjunkie I don't remeber much, except..... Mar 18 2010 12:19 pm #3slaymesoftly That would be my guess, but I don't see it on the fic list anymore. I am not a minion of Evil... I am upper management. I found it over at Sinister Attraction but it's unfinished. Looks like it'll stay that way, here's the link ....www.sinister-attraction.net/stories/c/sympathyfor.htm Mar 18 2010 06:20 pm #6JMjunkie Thanks, but did anyone maybe saved the completed version before it was taken down? Mar 18 2010 06:22 pm #7JMjunkie Thanks, but did anyone maybe saved the completed version before it was taken down? Just curious, why do some writers take all their works off line? I can certainly understand no longer wanting to keep your website active - but why, unless they want to remove their work for professional reasons, not archive them at one of the current sites? ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Mar 18 2010 06:52 pm #9coalitiongirl For some people, it's the fear of being found by RL people- I know that one writer at TSR has had to repost under different names, several times. But I think for most it's professional. Mar 19 2010 01:46 am #11Guest Mar 19 2010 02:24 am #12Spikez_tart Why take off - as you write more and get better, some of those old stories start looking pretty bad, too. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? I have the completed version...except it's at home and I have to look for it on my external hard drive. I had to quickly save quite a bit to my external drive when my computer was wonky. Then, well, it crashed. Thank god for the major quickness of saving my files! I know I have it, but I wonder about sending it to people because of an author's permission. They took them down for a reason. So...I'd ask for your email except...I don't want to send something without ComedyofErrors permission...and I don't have an email or permission from this writer...So...I'm stuck...sorry!!!! Mar 25 2010 02:44 am #14Spikez_tart Does anyone remember a story on Allaboutspike where Buffy gets a talisman and thinks it means she's doomed to have sex with Spike? He gives her a CD of music, but spoils it when he tells her he ate the guy that made it for her and they consummate the luv thang in a music practice room at Sunnydale U. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? Mar 25 2010 11:52 am #15slaymesoftly I do remember that one. From a really long time ago. No clue (as usual) about whose it is or the title, though. I don't think it was one of nauti's, although it sounds like it could be. Seems to me it was quite short. I am not a minion of Evil... I am upper management. Mar 26 2010 02:19 am #16Spikez_tart It wasn't nauti's and it was regular novel length. I may have to spend a couple of hours cruising for it. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? It's really bugging me as I remember it well! Let us know if you get lucky! YAY I found it! Achilles Heel by Elizabeth. http://web.archive.org/web/20060526095919/s8219.net/bbfarchive/archive/0/achillesheel.html Mar 27 2010 12:15 am #19Spikez_tart Woo hoo - that is definitely the one. Thanks so much. If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who? You guys rock with the finding and giving of info on all these older and outstanding stories - Thank you all so much for all the help you give. I look forward to reading "Achilles Hell" - novel length and long sagas are my favorite material to read. I actually managed to find, with the help of TSR the "Baby Steps" by Kallysten - ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Apr 03 2010 03:59 am #21BreathesStory Here's a weird looking page I found the other day via the Wayback Machine. It's a list of stories from THE OLD VAMPIRE'S KISS ARCHIVE. You will find stuff there that wasn't listed in the most recently deceased version--including the only completed version of "Stranded" I've found online. These are individual hyper-linked pages of the stories listed in alphabetical order. (The couple of hyperlinks I checked worked.) Link: http://web.archive.org/web/20041129180054/http://vampires-kiss.net/fics/ It's not the thing you fling, it's the fling itself. Actually, you can find stranded at another link. http://www.bringonthebloodshed.com/bloodshedbaby/fics/stranded.htm But thanks for that link to vamp kiss, BreathesStory. This appears to be the links by some of the stories - alphabetical order - the home site links don't seem to be working just now - vampires kiss site http://web.archive.org/web/20041129180054/http://vampires-kiss.net/fics/ ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Apr 03 2010 07:07 am #24BreathesStory maryperk- Really? I've never been able to make any of her links at bringonthebloodshed work. (After I checked back half a dozen times I gave up.) All I ever get is pages that have banners but that have no text whatsoever when I click on the stories. (Yep. Same thing just now.) It has even never mattered what browser I use. Hmmm... I wonder what you are doing different than me... It's not the thing you fling, it's the fling itself. Apr 03 2010 07:25 am #25Kristi The text on Bloodshedbaby's pages is white, on a white background. I ended up using NoSquint (a Firefox Addon) to change the text color. You can also press Ctrl+A to highlight everything, and that should make the text visible, too. For me, most of BSB's backgrounds are a dark color with white letters. If they are white on white as Kristi suggested, maybe you could copy and paste into a wordpad to make them easier to read. On the vampkiss link, if you scroll down to AuthorsA, you can go through all the letters quite easily without any broken links. That's what I did. I saved two of the stories I had links to way, way back. Grass Stains and A Reluctant Hero. Apr 07 2010 06:24 pm #27BloodyHell The 'Stranded' story doesn't work for me. There is no text (yes, I pressed Ctrl + A AND I tried Readability) and afterwards my browser shuts down. Does anyone have this story saved somewhere? Thanks a lot! :) Apr 07 2010 11:25 pm #28Cordykitten @ BloodyHell: The link works for me, the background is white though. Try web.archive.org/web/20051227004632/vampires-kiss.net/fics/stranded.htm the background is different, maybe this works for you. Oct 23 2010 09:47 pm #31maryperk As re: Kallysten's request at Seeking Spike, Baby Steps has been removed from the internet and she doesn't want it to be exchange in any form. http://community.livejournal.com/seeking_spike/299585.html Oct 23 2010 10:09 pm #32ladycat713 There's still this though http://community.livejournal.com/babystepsverse/ The stories aren't written by Kallysten but are set in that verse. Here is a link for another Baby Series by Mrs. Muir - http://dark-solace.org/elysian/series.php?seriesid=28 ” Recent evolutionary models have demonstrated what politicians have long known: the best way to get people to collaborate and to think like a group is to identify an enemy and charge that “they” threaten “us.” Michael Tomasello is co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Jan 15 2011 03:28 am #34Spuffy I need help. I'm looking for a fic where Buffy, Spike, and Giles are on a trip looking for something, but on the way back Buffy gets crushed by a rock slide. Giles goes for help while Spike stays with Buffy. The help is Riley on an Inisiative helicopter. While Buffy is recovering, Spike comes over to give Dawn and Joyce a break from watching Buffy. While he is there, he carries Buffy upstairs so she can get cleaned up. I think Buffy and Riley are still together and that Buffy is starting to fall for Spike. That's all I remember, but I would really like to read it again. It was a good fic. That's Slaymesoftly's Someday Soon along with the sequel Make My Day here on BSV Jan 15 2011 06:07 pm #36Spuffy OMG!!!! Thank you maryperk! I have been looking for that for weeks!!!!! ^_^ I was about to give up! Thank you so much! | |||
