come on spike, buffy isn't that good an actress. very good read, thank you.
We know it, but poor Spike has been put through the wringer in relationships and I don't think he has much confidence in the area of love.

If only Spike could have told Buffy about what he'd heard - please make Giles and Xander pay! They ruined a beautiful moment for him.

Great to have this new chapter - such sorrow and hard-times for our favorite vampire - like the way you have him being so in control while he is bringing so misery to himself. Pity Buffy didn't make it to telling him the truth -
I hate to think of the what tremendous blow-up might come soon from his misunderstanding of the true situation. It is hard for me to think that Buffy has some justification for thinking she should keep his being the father a secret - glad to see that she may have changed her mind. Look forward to your next chapter.

Please let them talk things out soon. Good chapter. I can imagine that this is very difficult for Spike because of what he overheard. Please update soon.
