Good start. Good to see a actually good new story and hey from 1 of my favorite btvs authors too :) I love Spike's characterization another non-pussy Spike fanfic is always welcome in my book. I will read the other chapters when I get the chance (and review all them--hopefully) keep up the good work!

Fantastic opening! I loved Spike's reaction to Buffy's whole encounter with Angel.

Great story and excellent Spike. You need a little break of some kind where you switch to Buffy. it was a little confusing.

Wow. Off to a really exciting start. And a surprising one - dead Angel before he even gets a chance to tell her he has a soul. tsk, tsk. ;)
I was always surprised that Buffy, a Slayer, didn't know that Angel was a vamp. And then he was so coy and didn't tell her he was there to help. Of course she would dust him. He'd be just another vamp to her. I'm so glad you're liking it!

A great beginning, setting up the characters and their thoughts and reactions to each other so easily for the plot to flow forward. I loved Spike's reaction to Angel's dusting. That Spike should be able to convince Buffy to not turn her back on being the Slayer is realistic for both their personalities now and funny. And Spike's brand of cryptic comments and taunting were interesting enough, but then he kisses her! I can't wait to read more. Please update soon!
Oh, thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying this! Chapter 2 will necessarily be close to canon and I'm worried about that. But then things will start to change.

It was very exciting to see a new one beginning from you! It certainly doesn't disappoint! I'm glad Angel is out of the way, and that it was so amusing for Spike, but it just gives you a chance to really go for it. You've captured the trickster element of Spike's character very well. His stake in things is so very different from everybody else's! I enjoyed all his louche body language throughout.

Oh, thank you for liking it! I needed to get Angel out of the picture, but was worried that people might get upset about Buffy dusting him. :D Spike's trickster quality was what got me intrigued with this idea - how different his method might be from Angel's canon one.
