S5 Spike - what was he up to

I'm having a lame-o author's block on a story. Any ideas for what activities Spike was up to in S5 (starting around Shadow and forward to end of Intervention, when he wasn't mooning after Buffy or drinking at Willys? I'm look for stuff that would fit in the existing arc of S5 Like bowling.
If we want her to be exactly she'll never be exactly I know the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone' who?

We usually saw him when he was stalking Buffy. I don't remember seeing him on his lonesome too much. Hmmm, in Triangle, he was already at the Bronze when Xander showed up to complain about Anya and Willow.

Yeah, I'd say he spent a good amount of time lurking wherever Buffy may have been. In "Crush," she mentions that she hasn't had a lot of time to hang out and relax after she comes home from the Bronze. So, maybe when he wasn't stalking her there, he was hanging out at the Magic Box (before Crush, that is), lurking by his tree outside her house (No Place Like Home), stealing stuff out of the house for his shrine (Listening to Fear), trying to run into her at college parties (I Was Made to Love You), etc. :-P
Oh, yeah, and following Riley around (Into the Woods).
