Beneath The Shadows of Evil by Jolynn? Anyone?

Another really great AU. Set in 1500's Romania. Spike is a Vampire Lord, Buffy a gypsy. Lots of angst... I seem to have read it up to chapter eight before I drifted away. Now, if only I can find it again!

The author changed fan fic names before deleting the story entirely.  Um...I think she wanted to make it original or something?  But yeah, unless someone saved it somewhere...and it wasn't complete either.  She was supposed to have posted an outline of where the story would have ended on LJ or something like that, but I don't believe that ever happened.  Or if it did, I didn't hear about it.

I have it on my Mac.  It was from SR but the author's name was Selirra.  Don't know if it's still there and I do not remember if it was ever finished.
When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before.

J. had to pull her work from TSR in order to protect her job security (she said that at her workplace they developed a new morality code that would get her into trouble even if stuff done in her free time if they would see it as wrong/immoral).
If you remember her other story titles you'll see the stories under a different name now but not this story.
This story was never finished, it stopped with chapter sixty-five. Only a summation of the rest of Shadows was posted but also taken down.

Do you have the summation or remember it?

Also, where are her other stories, and under what name?

Thanks :)

Just don't mention her old name on her new account, she doesn't want to be found again in any way.  MarzBar almost got the name right, http://www.spikeluver.com/SpuffyRealm/viewuser.php?uid=2725 = her account @ SR. Sadly she hasn't updated in a while.
She posted the reason at the bloodydoit Yahoo Group, I saved the message because she said she would delete it.
I don't remember much of the summation. Willow got together with 'her' vampire.
They had to separate the children because the more vampire one wasn't tamed.  And that caused trouble (strain?).  The boy stayed too wild. I think Spike became human, staying together with Buffy and his daughter. I forgot what happened to William, if he died, being so wild. Sadly back then TSR didn't have a pdf function where you could save fics that were in danger  to be taken down.

Uh, just to let you know, that new name - not entirely safe. I googled the fic when Chrissie first posted this, and when the TSR links that came up were all down, I did what everyone would do and put one of them into the wayback machine. What came up was a chapterlist of the fic, with the new username attached. The fic itself was down, but since the summary, title and whatnot were still there, it makes the links between the two names very clear. So if she's really worried about her new name being linked to the Jolynn one, she might want to consider changing it yet again. And to make sure not to post any fics with distinctive (googelable) titles under both names.

Not that I understand why any employer would be allowed to enforce a code like that. Most of what you find in fandom ammounts to amature romance novels (yes, even the porny stuff), and while some countries are pretty uptight about porn, most (at least the western ones) don't exactly seem to consider romance novels immoral. Otherwise people wouldn't read them on trains and busses, and they woud be better hidden in bookstores.

Sorry about the rant, the morale-police always pisses me off. Didn't mean to imply that that author is in anyway wrong in taking her stuff down, but her employers are way overstepping their boundaries if you ask me.

Has anyone asked her why she hasn't bothered to finish posting the fic?  I mean, there's some porny stuff in the body of work she does have up...

And ditto about the morale-police Dia.

*nods* I still found a wayback machine link too but the chapters don't open in the link I have.
Ditto about morale-police - she works as a teacher in the 'bible belt' she said once in one of her author's notes.
I have no clue if someone tried to contact her; she was ill before and / or didn't always have time to write during school so there were breaks before.

Huh! Would have sworn I responded to this in rather lengthy fashion, but I guess the internet must have cut out before it went anywhere. *sigh* Will be glad to get home again.

Anyway, I hate to disagree, Dia, but there are many jobs/positions where, while it might be technically illegal and nobody's business what employees do in their spare time, that doesn't mean the the private morals of those employees couldn't be a problem.  Any school employee, for instance.  All I need is for the parent of some 13-yr-old who shouldn't have been on my site anyway coming into my school and waving around a printout of one of my pwp stories in front of my principal.  Could they fire me for it? Probably not. Would the publicity make it impossible for me to do my job effectively? Absolutely.

Same would apply, I'm sure for many other places of employment or positions.  Politicians at any level, any school employees (as I mentioned), minister's wives...I'm sure you can think of more.  I can see where, depending on the level of security required for the position, or the possible consequences of public disclosure of something like that, an employer might be very unhappy to know that an employee was writing and publicly publishing porn - under any name.

Oh, I didn't mean it couldn't pose a problem for the employee, I'm fully aware that there are quite a few jobs where having a hobby like that can get you into trouble. I just don't think it's right, it shouldn't be legal to firse someone over something like that.

I think you should have asked for a pot of gold instead.

Look what was just reposted: Beneath The Shadows Of Evil

Anyone looking for my story Beneath the Shgadows of Evil can find the complete story published on Amazon in a three book Series. Taken, Torn, and Treasured, all with the Beaneth the Shadows of Evil added. Through much manipulation I am able to publish under a pen name that is pretty far removed from my real name and therefore at least semi safe with my job. Yes, same one with the morality police. I'll be retirerin g in 5 years and then they can all go to hell. Look for Jolynn Raymond on Amazon.

I've bought all the books you have on amazon so far :cheer: Actually I buy pretty much all my favorite authors who have published original works books but yours were the latest. Just wanted to let you know you are appreciated.

Congrats on your original works being published - I hope that the works are not only available on their Kindle - I've tried before to purchase former FF Jossverse writers but the books are only available for the Kindle reader.
