Chapter 7

Really enjoyed this story!!   Nice to read that Spike stopped being evil for someone who liked him from the beginning, and not after the fact.    I always thought the show should have promoted the friendship between Joyce & Spike, and not have her pull away once Spike confessed his feelings for Buffy.    In the show, Joyce didn't like the idea of Spike for Buffy well before he chained her in his crypt, which didn't sit too well with me.    Up until then, she had been friendly toward Spike, so I couldn't understand her reasoning in that episode.

Good to see a happy ending for Spike without all the additional pain from later seasons.

Thanks for the good read!

I always thought that if the timing was right and it was the right person they could change Spike. In canon Giles tried, half-heartedly, after Spike was chipped. But either because it was too soon or he really didn't mean it the message didn't get through to Spike. (Or the Buffy's writers are evil?!)

Great to read again -   it's nice being able to read a story that is filled with the "happy possibility" and wonderful friendship instead of more of the normal pain, suffering and violence that are part of lives of these characters.

Thanks, I always thought that Spike and Joyce could be friends and that having a friend especially after Dru dumped him would have been good for Spike. He really wasn't a loner, he needed others.

Buffy's mom could definitely change the way Spike looked at the world.

I think if she had been more involved in Buffy's life she could have changed all of them for the better. Everyone of Buffy's friends needed a mom. Willow's wasn't involved. Xander's was drunk all the time. Anya, Tara and Spike's moms were dead. She could have been maternal and a friend to them. Thank you for reading!

Nice story G - hope you will do some mean stuff to our favorite characters in the sequel.
Thanks. The sequel is almost done (just waiting for my beta to take a look at it). I tried to keep the plot of the letters going. So here is a preview. The sequel will be the same story (plus a little more) as told thru Dawn's diary. Now we all know that she only appeared in season 5 but the monks did make memories going all the way back.

Neat Spuffy Story - I love your Joyce-Spike relationship.  Really nice to read something that features Joyce as a really important part of the work.

Thanks. I wondered why they never worked her into more story lines on the show. I guess because she would have become a mother to the group and their stupidity wouldn't have happened. :)

Chapter 7
That was cute.  I love Spike and Joyce friendship so much; it makes me melt.
Thank you. The scene with Spike and Joyce sitting together drinking hot chocolate always stuck with me and I always wondered if he had visited her in season 4 after he was chipped. Spike always needed a friend and I thought Joyce would be good for him.

Chapter 6

Hee - Joyce revealing all of Spike's dirty nancy boy secrets.

She knows there is more to Spike than meets the eye. I don't think she is trying to reveal all his secrets. She is just trying to show the rest of them what she sees.

Chapter 5

Hurry Buffy!  You rushed this part a little.  Looking forward to seeing the council in action - that nasty Martin guy maybe.  :)

More of a behind the scene action from the council. I mean they are a secret society.

Excellent Clem - I always love to see and read about Clem.

He is so sweet! Who doesn't love Clem?!

Chapter 3

Love the idea that Spike comes back to SunnD to be near his new "mom."

Her friendship might have changed him fundamentally but he is smart enough to know that in order to keep on the straight and narrow he really needs to be near his friend. A letter every couple of days doesn't compare to daily contact.

Chapter 3
I just got a chance to catch up on my reading, and I like it so far (especially the telling Angel off part. I love telling Angel off).

And now you've left me with a cliffhanger. Arrgh! (Write more, please!)
I love telling Angel off too! He always thought too highly of himself in my opinion. Joyce never did like him, so I couldn't see her holding back. I'm glad you like it. Spike and Angel were so different. Angel tried to pretend his past never happened and Spike never shied away from what he did. Not that Spike didn't do very bad things. But he understood that guilt, well it only got you so far. At some point you have to realize that you can't change what you did you can only go forward and try to be different. Since Angel wouldn't even admit to doing bad things he couldn't ever really get to that point. It was always his alter-ego that was the naughty vamp, not him, he was a Champion! pfft!

Chapter 2
Don't try the puppy eyes look on me, mister.  That works if you break a glass - not a woman's neck."  LOL - Great Joyceness.  Although Buffy really should have disinvited Spike.  He is the Big Bad after all.
He did promise to leave and never come back. Then the whole thing with sending Angel to hell and running away to LA. It just slipped her mind.

Chapter 1

I'll be interested to see a new direction for this part of the Spike arc.  Love how he claims that Willow wouldn't shut up.  Ha!

Willow does tend to babble when she gets nervous!
