I love that you have this scene from Spike's pov, That he was there with Buffy, helping her get through that moment without him. And poor Spike to have to go from the love of Buffy to Angel, that's enough to make anyone angry. I am really glad that you mentioned that this is just the starting place for a longer piece, because it is truly fantastic and I would otherwise be left begging you to continue it. :D
Oh, thank you so much! I'm not sure *when* I'll be starting the next one, since I have a couple of other projects on the drawing board along with it, but I promise, it will get out here, eventually. :)
