I know it's been years since this was posted, but this is my first read through. Great vignette. Understated tone, easy-flowing narrative. Nice insights into the girl who always realizes emotional things too late. Dog was a nice touch, too; the candle, the cigarette, the spell. Nicely focused.

That's Beutiful opal. I have read many angsty fics and there have been only a very small ammount i have liked wholey. Yours was one of them. It moved me to tears, good work!
