Beautifully done! I was surprised by the first 'roarer' but it makes sense in a way and that last paragraph is wonderfully done. The whole chapter is hopeless and hopeful in a way that really reflects the William-demon instead of the brash front people think of for S6 Spike.

I wanted to put in his "survival instinct", i guess. It doesn't make sense to me that Spike would feel so comfortable with Drusilla without being at least a little wary of her. With Buffy, it seemed to me like he loved her too much to care, and maybe even deluded himself.
And thanks for that! This is my first drabble, as well as my first S6 fic, because I hate to write about the abusive Spuffy, but I felt like I needed to write out my opinion of what Spike really thought on some level. I'm glad to hear you think I did well.
