very good read, thank you. enjoyed leonard and the depth of his feelings; red, the reluctant hero; and spike having his slayer dropped right into his lap.

Wanted to show that even an evil vampire can love deeply! Willow saved Buffy but it won't be without the consequences, more to that soon. And Spike sure has her dropped right into his lap. The question is, what will he do about it? Thanks for taking your time to leave such a great review!!! :)

And so they meet.

I couldn't help but feel sorry for Leonard.  I am reminded of James and his Elizabeth from Angel....yes, Buffy will have to know from this that even with an evil core a demon can love and deeply.

Nice save by Willow and loved her babbling nervousness and confusion.  Very in character.

Poor Buffy can't really go home but has no where to go at this point.  She'll eventually want revenge on Lucas but need to find herself again and to heal.

So something in her has already touched Spike's humanity and attracted the attention of his demon as well.  This is the best possible luck she's had thus far.  He knows something of what she's been through given he did know to go to Lucas to begin with and will likely put it all together quickly.

Nice echo of canon drowned Buffy.  Will there be a new Slayer like with Kendra or will that be a non issue?  Either way is fine but the nod to canon was lovely.

I kind of wanted the readers and Buffy to see that even when the vampires are evil, they can love, they can be devoted. Not all of them of course... they are diverse, just like humans are. Every one of them is different in one way or another. Take Angelus and Spike for example. They're complete opposites of each other!

I'm glad you liked this Willow, I enjoyed writing her! :)

You're completely right about that... Buffy will want to avenge herself, once she's ready to face the literal and methaporical demons! Spike showed up at the most convenient moment, sometimes one can find safety and compassion in the arms of the most unlikely hero, right? And there's a reason behind the pull Spike feels in regards to Buffy, more of that will be revealed soon! :)

I'm glad you liked the canon bit... it certainly served its purpose, but I'm not saying a word yet, though you can probably figure it out by yourself! *winks* Kendra will be the next slayer, but she won't be too relevant to the story!

Thank you for taking your time to leave me such an awesome review, Kathleen!!! :)
