Great chapter - like the way that you have brought them together - all the close connection but still having to deal with her tragic past and his confusion and desire for this slayer. This is such a huge new way of having to deal with his life. For Buffy, being able to trust anyone one or thing at all is also a huge change.

There are all kinds of conflicting emotions for both of them, and they both have to adjust, adapt to the changing circumstances since they only have each other. I never really liked Whistler, so I made up Steve, and he served his purpose well, I'm glad you liked the way I brought him in! :) Thank you for a lovely review Sylvia!!! :D

Whoa! Glad Steve came in the awake time for less cryptic help. (Like him).
Spike really is starting to care on more levels than the bond and that is good because Buffy does too.
His vampiric speed came in handy this go round. Poor Buffy needs to get rid of this hitch-hiker asap!

The less cryptic, the better, and Steve was just the guy with enough info to help them! :)
It was the bond that let Spike see Buffy for who she really was, and vice-versa, but it's not the bond that makes Spike genuinely care for Buffy, that's all him. :) What will his reaction be when he finds Buffy hurt? And was it the demon inside her that hurt her, or was it Buffy herself?
