Your treatment of Spike and his deep fear and their connection is very effective - well done - I felt my heart racing right along with him.   Your use of contrast and how he keeps going sliding back and forth between his human life and his vampire life also works really well - especially the battle he has with his demon.

Very much like your treatment for Buffy - I like not having the more usual angry or Buffy trying to escape her life as The Slayer.

*smiles* Thank you for the compliment, it's always good to know that the things I wanted to show a reader are coming across effectively, especially Spike's struggle between his demon and need to be more for Buffy. He was terrified that she tried to kill herself, and we all know how Spike reacts to uncomfortable emotions- anger. I'm so happy you like my Buffy!! :D Mostly because it's really tough sometimes to write her OOC, but still kind of not. Thank you for the brilliant review!!! :)

So sweetly tender!  Love his emotions all over the place, very in character.  Unsouled Spike was a bundle of confused feelings and you have captured it perfectly here.  His fear of losing her, his fight with his own demon (and I wonder what other influence), his anger, his love....

This ritual can't come soon enough.  The demon in her is a knowing one...it knows they plan to get rid of it.  Scary, very scary.  Sh'e already been through so much and to be free yet still not really in control of even her own body must be horrible.

I tried to picture what Spike would do in a situation like this, and this is what came to me! lol Spike always had trouble with staying focused, you're totally right- his emotions tend to get all over the place! His anger was spurned by the fear of seeing Buffy like that, and it made him lose his head, let his demon take control and trying to make him turn Buffy so he could never lose her.

Buffy's free, but still not, as you said it. She can't be free until they get rid of the demon inside her, and the ones that are metaphorical. The ritual is getting near, and the hijacker's time is running out- and he knows that. I hope you'll like what I've planned for the ritual! :)

Thank you for the great review, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it Kathleen!!! :)
