Way to go, Spike! I love it that Tara, Willow, Dawn and Anya are all on Spike's side. It's about time that racist prick got his comeuppance!

And there it is, the thing that Buffy doesn't want to face, but can't move on from until she does. It started her down the path of misdirection.

“Shoving me around when I can’t fight back, that’s low. But you’re the real expert on doing that, aren’t you, cutie?"

She'll have to change tactics, now, and really think about how she behaves. The smitten Spike might not have pushed her on this issue, but this one will.

Lots of interesting ideas in this chapter. I liked Tara standing up for the truth as she sees it. She really shows her spine in this season, and you've captured that even more explictly than usual. Good job.

As a rule, I avoid WIP because they often end up remaining unfinished.  But since you have a habit of finishing stuff...in any case, very much enjoying this.  I like Unwhipped, Snarky Spike, and the way you get into it is nicely done.  It'll be interesting to see what else he gets up to, which his Whipped counterpart never did: the chip out, possibly?  And what would happen if he truly arranged for humans to die, such as the Nerds?  Good characterizations all around, and nice dialog.  Look forward to seeing the rest of it. :)

i actually hope she dusts the bastard, i hate this spike with a passion.  even if xander may have had it coming, he's nothing but an ass.  i don't see how there's going to actually be any spuffy in this one, not if this spike doesn't have any feelings for her.  how can he just ignore all that future spike felt?  it makes me sad to realize that he doesn't even care for dawn.  i may give one more chapter a chance, but so far, i'm not liking where this is going.

Boy, Spike just loves playing with fire! But, I have the feeling that Buffy's the one who's going to get burned. Deservedly so.

I'm very much enjoying this story, and it's nice to see Spike get some of his own back.

*snicker* I love what you're doing to Xander. I personally would have voted for a beat down, but this is SO much better! This is long lasting, and harmless. But of course, leave it to Buffy to blow it out of perportion (even ANYA says it's no big deal, and she has to live in the apartment the Fiourd keep getting into). It's a prank really, nothing compared to what Spike could have done (again, my beatdown idea).
Oh, and go Tara! It's nice to see that someone is going to point out what a jerk Xander has been/.
And I must stress yet again, how much I love this Spike in this setting. I was watching season six last night (I had the urge to watched Once More With Feeling- as a musical theatre buff, tis my fav) and it just made me love it all the more. It made me laugh that you felt the need to put a not so PC warning, when this is NOWHERE near as bad as that season. Excpept apparently if a woman is the abusive one in the relationship, it's all good. If the writers had had Spike treat Buffy the way everyone would have been horrified. So seeing Spike give it back (not nearly as bad as she did the entire season, in my humble opinion) is refreshing. Makes me want to point and laugh. Seriously, after Wrecked all pity I felt for the girl after being torn out of heaven went away.
Anyway, there`s my I have issues with season six rant. One question; is this going to be another five chapter story. Just wondering, because I really can`t see it concluding in two chapters. Anyway, can`t wait until tomorrow!

I'm enjoying this Spike so much -- especially the lovely way he's getting back at Xander! -- that I would actually love it if he stayed just like this forever (sorry, not really a Spuffy fan here).  In fact, Buffy, Giles and Angel could *all* use some nice lovely Spike-payback...
