Loved this story, especially the fact that you kept Spike true to character and unapologetic about it, as well as having Buffy give into her thirst for vengeance. Made the whole story a much better read.
Thank you so much, Martin!! All your reviews have been really lovely. I appreciate you giving my story a shot. :)

I'm so happy you gave the story a chance even though it was on the darker, more difficult to read side. Thank you for the sweet review!!! :) xoxo

Thank you for writing the story.  Of course, I love that it's spuffy and that it's AU.  It's always great to take the characters and bring them into a new setting.  Because this dealt in dehumanizing torture for Buffy, it was harder for me to read those parts.  You were able to give her vindication, but the premise was dark.  As a writer, please don't hesitate to give warning about the chapter and tell the reader to skip to the next chapter if the content would be offensive (for any reason including rape, torture, etc).   Please don't get me wrong, I like your story and enjoyed them creating a relationship with each other.  You cater to your muse accordingly.
Thank you for reading it! :) I'm glad you decided to give it a go and read all the way to the end even though I know it wasn't easy. Parts of it were hard for me to write but I felt like it needed to be written. The premise was indeed dark but I tried to slip in lighter moments where it seemed appropiate and Buffy got her happy ending, finding love and support even if she'll always be marked by that terrible experience. I'm so sorry about the warnings! Beside the one in the summary I added a warning to chapter four, but I realized I only put it in the AN over at the Spuffy Realm and Elysian Fields... since there's no individual window for AN here at BSV, I tend to forget adding them. *smacks forehead* I apologize! But I do believe that by skipping those difficult to read chapters, a reader could miss a part of the plot or development as well. I'm happy you liked and thank you for reading and leaving me a wonderful review, Deb!!! :)

read this a while ago but never reviewed it.  loved it then, still love it now!  I really enjoyed the twisted plot, and Buffy's moment of empowerment.  but most especially, Spike is lovely in this story!
Aww, you're so awesome! :) It's so great to know you loved the story and let me know. Hee... glad you enjoyed the twisted plot. To be honest, I had no idea where the story was going to take me when I started writing and posting it, but it somehow all worked out. I always obsess about details in everything I do so I wanted the plot to be at least a tiny bit different. Spike is lovely in all my fics. :D That's because I love his charcter so much I can't really make him a jerk, not for long anyway. lol Thank you for the delicious review!!! :D

I just finished reading all the chapters over the last two nights and I just wanted to say that I thought it was brillant.

I've never read a spuffy story set in an alternative universe before and wasn't sure if I'd like it as I usually prefer stories that are based on one of the buffy episode, but I loved this. It really showed what could of happened if Buffy had Spike to help her through all those years instead if him being her ememy.

I really liked this and would recommend it to anyone.
You're made of awesome! :) It's a pretty long story, so kudos to you for reading it so quickly. ;) You can't imagine how happy it makes me to know you liked it.

I'm very glad you decided to give this story a chance even though it's not your cuppa tea. I like alternate universes becuase it gives you more room for thinking up any plotline you want without having to adhere to the official canon. It also makes it tougher to get the characterization right though. Hee... I love it that you loved it! :D

You're very sweet, thank you for the heart-warming review, Viaje!!! :)

OH, I was so sorry to read the words "maybe now she would find some friends after all." cause I could tell it was THR END. It was well-written and I enjoyed reading it.
I remember I was so sorry to write that sentence, but at the same time quite content that I finished it. Reviews like yours were inspiration for me to write more. :) Thank you for the heart-warming words and stopping to let me know you enjoyed! I really appreciate it!!!

You came through with a terrific ending - bringing back the originator of all her misery, and misery is simply inadequate to describe what she suffered from Lukas and all his monster clients.  Plus getting her back into school so that she meets Willow and Xander was another nice touch.

Best thing is that you kept things real with the admission that all the terrible nightmare existence she lived through would always still be lurking about in her consciousness, but both she and Spike would find the strength to live with them and past them.

Congratulations on your story - I am so glad that you used my banner - wish I had been able to get that second one to you, maybe on your next story or for some previous works I can do another one for you.

All my best wishes to you for the Holiday Season, with school and for the coming year -

A spuffy friend and grateful reader.
You always write such amazing reviews, nmcil! :) I'm really glad you liked the ending! It was inevitable for Buffy to finally get to the point where she had to take revenge on her own, even though ultimately it was on Spike's behalf that she went off the deep end. I supposed that was what would trigger her reaction; death of someone she loves more than anything. Since I already introduced Willow, I didn't want to let that thread hanging, so I used them as a new beginning for Buffy. Her life with Spike, and friends she never thought she could find again.

It would be way unrealistic to say she'd gotten over everything, that she didn't even remember the abuse. Once a person lives through something as traumatic, they are never the same again, and as for Buffy, she'll never forget, but having Spike by her side, she will learn to live with it.

I was SO happy you made the banner for me; it's really gorgeous!!! :) No worries about the second one! I'll be very grateful if you make one for my next story when I write it, if you will have time for it.

Thank you. :D I wish you the best Holiday Season ever!!! I love Christmas, can't wait to make (and eat) pastries with my family.

Thank you for leaving me such an awesome review, nmcil!!! :)

I like how the Slayer took over and killed 'em all -- suitably gruesomely -- exactly what Buffy needed.  Really well done.
She tore them apart quite literally... it was the least they deserved. I wrote it so Buffy was the one doing the saving, because she needed it. :) Thinking Spike was dead really set her off in a big way, just like it would Spike if the roles were reversed. Thank you for every lovely review you left me, Lou!!! *hugs*
