“She’s with me. If you have a problem with that, you lose body parts.”
Mr. Whiskers quivered. “B-but I need my body parts! All of them!”

Snicker. An informant who all but oozes cuteness in such a miserable, nasty place is as delightful as it is bizarre. More excellent world-building in this installment, too.

She was the Little Engine That Should Have Been Sold for Scrap Years Ago.

Ouch. That's downright painful and speaks volumes about Buffy's state of mind and her existence. And her need to 'forget about not remembering' is heartbreaking.
I'm glad you enjoyed my fuzzy wuzzy informant! I wrote him after creating a splice that's pretty darn disgusting, and I wanted something different. It's possible I was also overly influenced by zooborns.com.

Buffy definitely isn't in a good place. She has all these empty places eating at her, and she knows she's not right. Spike isn't filling in the blanks (though that's partly Buffy's fault) – he's making the fact that there are blanks more obvious.

Sorry! clicked submit before I'd written anything. *need more tea*
Just caught on (or just remembered) that they're running around under DC area. How fun. Not for them, obviously, but...  Those memories are poking their way out, aren't they?  And Spike is sleeping beside her... awwww.
Hee. Well, my cell phone reception always goes out on the metro, so it seemed apropos. :-)

And yep! Having Spike around is drawing all sorts of stuff out, even if Buffy's not 100 percent aware of it. Spike might be laying low, but he's not about to abandon his girl. Not that she entirely appreciates that right now ...
