I haven't been on a buffy site for a while and yours is the first story I read. I have to say it's really good. hope you up date soon.
Consider me honoured!  I hope you stick around for a bit -- there are tons of fantastic stories waiting for a fresh set of eyes.

Updated today.  Glad you liked this chapter and I hope you like the ending, too.  Thank you for your review.

Riding the wheel - has an interesting sort of Tarot idea about it.
As much as I'd like to take credit for doing something like that intentionally, the idea for the Ferris wheel ride lies solely with the banner -- it was an art-to-fic challenge, and Xaphania's banner that I picked had the wheel in it, which I felt I really needed to include in the story.

Thanks for reading!

Lovely chapter and I kinda love the idea of Buffy being scared of heights :)
See, I hate Ferris wheels.  I have no problem with heights unless I'm suspended in a little swingy car, so it was easy to see how even somebody as tough as Buffy could have a moment of fear over something as innocuous as a Ferris wheel ride.

Thanks for reading and reviewing :D

Again, perfectly lovely and elegantly written. You are weaving all of the element together so well - the adversarial relationship between them mixed with the mutual compassion and shared grief, the fact that no one else could possibly understand what they are feeling half as well as they can understand each other, and the delicate balance between what is established by canon and the space opening up in this story. The situation creates a kind of equality they never really had in the series. One can't help thinking, "If only..."

I don't want this story to end. I want it to keep going for, say, three or four more seasons - and then have a sequel.  ;-)
I'm glad that you're likiing this, and that it feels like the balance between canon and "what if" is working.  I appreciate the specific feedback about what you liked.

It's a nice feeling knowing that somebody wants the story to go on forever, though I must say that it is in fact quickly drawing to a close.  No promises, but I may eventually revisit this 'verse, not specifically as a sequel, but a story with this groundwork already laid.

Thank you very much.
