Great bit about the demon girl and Spike.   Not to mention those roast crickets.

On to the Hellmouth!
Demon girl grew out of the roast crickets.  Something about that prop brought her to life for me.

Perfect Spike grabbing that little demon girl's butt.  :)

Pff, like he'd keep his hands to himself. :)

Looks like our heroes may have a guardian angel on their side. Hoping Buffy starts listening to hers soon.

All I can tell you is wait and see. :)

I haven't dashed off to FF because I want to savor this piece.  Your beginning holds a LOT of promise.

Promise is good - I just hope you think I've managed to follow through when you get to later chapters!

And savoring is VERY good.  I'm really flattered.

This is starting off well.  I'm in for the long haul.
Good to know.  And if you get impatient, you can always swing by fanfiction.net/~peaceheather to get the most recent chapters. All my archive spots will be caught up fairly soon, but right now FFnet is ahead of BSV and other sites.

I've read the other chapters you have on your fanfiction.net site.  Altogether, it's really good.  You write very convincing Spike and Buffy, and your villain is one of the most interesting in some time.  I hope you will continue this.
MANY thanks for that!  I read a lot of Tanya Huff, and besides teaching me everything I ever learned about characterization and dialogue, she does kickass villains.  Of course now I have to figure out how to keep Figg involved in the story rather than conveniently out in the orchards when Spike gets rescued... :)

I have every intention of seeing this through till the end - reviews certainly help my momentum - but the holidays will interrupt for a bit here in about three days. *sigh*

I found Distress Signals at Bloodshedverse, and when you noted there were more chapters posted, I zoomed off and devoured them. Wow - you've really put our dear Spike through the ringer, haven't you? And of course, Buffy through an emotional ringer, as well. Now, of course, you have to fix it. Fast. I'm gonna hold my breath until you do. (Quickly, please? This shade of blue is unbecoming!)
Ahh, yes, hurt/comfort - not just a genre, it's a plot spoiler all its own.

I like that shade of blue you've got goin' on, there.  Sort of a purply color.  Very nice. :)

Text Wow good to have a new adventure to follow. Like it so far!
Happy to hear it!  More will come in a day or so, I think.  Or you can visit Fanfiction.net/~peaceheather to see up to the most recent chapter (currently 5 with 6 going up later today).
