I would have liked to see a chapter of Buffy going to Slayer Center and talking to the Chess Girl. Like the new character.
That conversation would have disrupted the flow of the overall story, and so I left it out.

Great update, I'm so hoping Xander's friend comes through with some concrete evidence about Spike's whereabouts. And Xander, who would have thought he'd come to Spike's rescue? Not Spike that's for sure. If he sees him, he'll be sure he's hallucinating. Can't wait for more.
Stop being psychic and spoiling parts of the story I haven't written yet. :)

this is a very different story... I really hope not to have to wait to see where it goes from here.

Fear not - I'm on the road and borrowing my mother-in-law's machine right now to get online, but on MY ancient laptop Chapter 8 is coming together nicely.
I keep getting surprised by people who say this is a different or unusual story, though - I suck at plot! I'm just doing a typical hurt/comfort - hurting Spike and letting Buffy eventually comfort him. Although I will say I'm trying to keep it from getting too one-sided, I guess...
Regardless. Really glad you're enjoying it. I promise the next chapter will be up within about a week.
