So Spike has now the position of a paid watcher.. more or less. ~ Loved Buffy's talk to Giles, very moving (heartbreaking). And Buffy trying to slay? It sounds as if she is in trouble now.. lots of trouble.

spike needs to come help her!!! poor buffy! her speech to giles was utterly heart-wrenching, and so true...how could he resist that? but then -- he's gonna have a baby....i'm so torn...more please :)

I am enjoying this story. Very good Buffy characterization. I like the way you have Giles leaving. For such a good reason but even that Buffy cannot understand. The Giles/Spike conversation was just hillarious "Sold. I'm a Watcher.

"You're a 'Looker After'. You're a 'Seeing Eye Vampire'. You're not quite a Watcher."

Very funny dialogue. Looking forward to the rest of the story.

Very cool. I haven't seen Watcher!Spike (kinda) in this timeframe before. I'm really looking forward to that. I like the Giles stuff here too, and I hope there's more of that coming.

Buffy is messed up - so are some of the others - and I'm eager to see how Spike will fit into the mix given his mandate from Giles.
