OHH boy. Buffy's losing her temper with them now. (Actually, she's shown a lot of restraint up to this point...)
Can I hide, till it's over? :)
yeah, she's not gonna get too bad :)

I think the Ripper was already ripped a new one!:D Can't wait to see what more she has to say.
well, she hasn't really focused on him yet....he and xander still need their turns!! :)

Love how you're giving her a chance to voice her wants, needs wishes and her heart. Can't wait to the what she's got on her mind for them. Buffy and Spike are totally right about Willow and her magic. She is an amature and Giles had no right to allow her to do magics unsupervised. I'd always thought that was weird that she got to do magic without any help from anyone. It was like reading a book to perform brain surgery. Giles, of all people knew that magics are dangerous. This next chapter will be very interesting. Love what you continue to do with this fic, thanks.
yeah, she needs to just let it all out... :) thanx

You've perfectly captured Giles at his most pompous. I really enjoy seeing Willow brought to task too.
thanx so much, so glad you like it :)

They're never going to be the same again. ::grin::
probably not :)

Yes, yes, yes, yes! ~~~does happy Giles smack down dance~~~ As guilty as Willow is, Giles is that much more so. At least Willow is young and naive. Giles has been involved in magic and the supernatural for YEARS. Also....he was the one who got so tired of the chipped vamp in the tub that he suggested a highly unnecessary and meanspirited spell so he could be let "free". He though nothing of enslaving the vamp who had come to him for help and wasn't even given a meal for over a day when he turned up half starved! Oh yes, I long to read Buffy's response to Giles! Excellent chapter here!!!! Sooooo in character all around.

Kathleen
you're completely right...giles has been evil to spike from the beginning...and now he's gonna hear about it :)

That was so great! Please update soon, I'll love it when buffy is pissed off and not at spike. LOL
that will be nice, yeah? thanx :)

Wow, very impressive chapter. I'm glad that Spike butted in to the conversation. Willow and Giles's reaction to the magic issues are very believable, especially the way Giles acted towards her mentioning his less than stellar behaviour.

Just one note I am a tad confused about. I understand that Spike has been fairly quiet in this whole meeting, but is it more of a smug quietness or more of a withdrawn quietness? Not a huge issue, nor one that I expect anyone else has, but just a small query.
Once again, JL (or i guess DreamsofSpike), you have impressed us with your great storytelling:)
thanx so much, glad you thought it was believable...as for spike's quietness...he's mostly just aware that this is a very sensitive situation, and trying not to make it any harder for buffy than it already is...

Oh, and poor Dawn...she's getting the s*** end of the stick in that explanation. Buffy did a really poor job of relaying their connection to the group.
well, honestly, buffy doesn't quite understand it herself yet...she and dawn both *felt* the connection...putting it into words is a bit harder :(

Yes, Giles could have been properly teaching Willow since she first showed an interest in magic, and he never did. She was a child playing with nukes, and he never did anything but scold her after she messed up. Willow's whole approach to magic was wrong, as she thought of it as an exercise in power. No thought to respecting the forces of nature, to balance, to defense, to healing....it was all about power and making herself the most useful with that power. Power corrupts, and great power corrupts muchly.

Giles has been an idiot....he has more magic ability than Willow at this point, and never did those spells himself, when he easily could have.
so right...giles is more at fault here than willow, but it's so easy for him to blame her...
