Wonderful fun. Hope that this fic continues to inspire you.
Inspire - yes. Free up my schedule to write more - still working on that one! Thanks for reviewing. Working on the next chapter now. :)

I'm hooked. I had my doubts before taking a look at this story, but this crossover works for me. I like the plottiness and the characterizations and the OCs are very good.
I totally get that. There have been several stories that just didn't appeal to me based on the description, title, etc. Then I read a chapter or two and was totally hooked myself. Thanks for being so honest. I like that you were willing to give me a chance and I like what you have to say. Hope I can keep up the quality. :P

Love the story great to see an update to it. Love the fact that it takes place in LOTR but you don't rush into the whole ring thing. I hope u have them cross path but on some level keep Spikes and the Scoobies adventure somewhat separate
You know, that's actually one of the plot points I'm trying to determine at the moment. I know where a few Scoobies have to end up for storyline purposes, but there are a couple that I just don't know what to do with yet. And I've got a few more chapters to decide all that, but it just hasn't come to me yet. It will, a story always goes where it's supposed to go...it's just that sometimes that direction can suprise even the author. Thanks for reviewing! :)

like the way you stated each persons thoughts on the matter so clearly...if i would make one suggestion on this very well done fic, it would be to break the paragraphs up at bit...a huge paragraph can be a bit daunting for some readers (namely me :P) but other than that it's wonderful...and i love xander's little epiphany, especially :)
I do tend to be a bit wordy at times. Actually, I swear my whole life is composed of rambling run-ons with very little breathing space. Whew! I appreciate the input and I'll keep that in mind when I forget to breathe! :)

Seriously thought, thanks for taking the time to review and for the kind words. Glad you're liking Xander. More soon. :)

Very nice indeed, the people that tell the story are the ones that call his deceased wife, his true love. I do think that Spike loved her very much, but he doesn't just call anyone his true love. Being deceived once and thinking that it was Dru for a 100y, and with Buffy they really didn't get that far enough.
I like your Spike more then season5 Spike who was quite pathetic imo. Yours is a true hero, deciding to fight on his own.

I've always liked the idea of Spike deciding to be his own man and doing it for the right reasons. As far as true love goes, I'm not going to weigh in just yet - mostly because I'll probably give it all away if I do. :P Wait till you hear from Spike or some of his friends who were around back then, and then I'd be very interested to hear what you think on the subject. Thanks for taking the time to review and for the gracious comments. :)

Revelations, indeed.
I like that - a nice succinct reply. As you can see, I'm not so good with the short stuff myself. My friends laugh at me because even the simplest of text messages ends up using up the limit of allowed characters when I'm writing it! :P

So, let me get this straight, Spike moved on a few years after jumping into the portal, giving up on ever returning, and after losing his wife he didn´t move on for fifty years? Well, he must´ve loved Buffy bunches, right?
Aside from that, I know, this is going to be a long tale and you have lots of plans with this. And I know I will follow every word and wait anxiously for every chapter, because I am already hooked on your tale and because I like that you take your time and you are developing this slowly.
But as of yet, this Spike is a stranger to me, and that he moved on from Buffy quite easily and his elven wife was his one true love he never moved on from doesn´t sit well with me at all, and despite knowing, for once, Spike was loved, I don´t know how you are going to work this out for them. I believe that you can love more than once in your life, but that there is only one true love. So if Spike had that already, it is like Buffy is only second best, and that saddens me, because it´s the worst feeling of all to be the solace price or weak substitute.
But I trust you to come up with something amazing, this story so far proves that you have great ideas. Guess I have to wait what you have up your sleeve.... Just don´t wait too long to have Spike and Buffy talking a few things out, please. Or just ignore me and do what you want, I´ll gobble your words up anyway :-))
Wow. This may be the longest review yet! Awesome. I know a lot of people have their doubts about the 'true love' bit. Trust me - I've heard from them!

I'm going to ask that you be patient with where I'm going on that track and let it develop. I think it will be satisfying for everyone...or so I hope anyway.

But let me ask you this one question on that topic: What represents true love to you? Is it how you feel about soemone else, how they feel about you, a grand gesture of sacrifice, a feeling of safety, stormy passion? I would venture that true love means different things to each person, and with that in mind, hope you are satisfied with how this pans out.

As for Spike being a stranger... I'm thrilled that you feel that way! He should be a stranger to everyone after 60 years. Bravo!

Thanks for the confidence and I'll try to get the rest out soon so you have more to chew on. :)

So, do they think he's of Numenorean blood, to be long-lived and not aging? Aragorn was well over 200 when he laid down his life...
Have you read The Silmarillion as many times, too?
Hmm. Interesting theory that bears consideration. Strider is coming within the next two chapters - promise!

Totally love all the Tolkien books. He was such a genius. Have been re-reading them annually since I was twelve and that was...let's see...longer back than I realized. Scary. :P
