It's great that you have introduced this ancient history into your story - I wish writers would take on the ancient timelines of the Old Ones and the Guardians - perfect set up for time travel and the creation of original characters.

Seems like Warren might still be working for the first. i wonder if Spike is going to tell Buffy about his mother or is the first going to be able to keep pushing that button. it was good to see Buffy and Willow have a night together where they could talk and share some of what their lives are like now

This could be just the break they were looking for, leave it to a 1100 year old ex vengence demon to know where to find it. Love that Willow and Buffy had reconnected again, they needed it. The comparison between Spike and Faith are really close. Wow, I wasn't expecting that and the only comparison between Buffy and William's mother is the love that he had for them, different but strong. Fabulous read, thanks MC.

very good read, thank you. enjoyed the similarities in buffy and red's relationships. anya always seems to cut to the heart of the matter, doesn't she?

Thanks! Yes, I've got a more flushed out idea in my head than I will detail in the story. But I needed something that takes into account evolution, the idea that pure demons once walked the earth, and gives legends of why the demons left some overlap with recognizable ancient myths/texts. And of course an ancient chronicle is going to lose things over the ages and it's not a firsthand account to begin with, etc. There will be more Chava to come though.

Nice Willow and Buffy talk. Interesting mention of Andrew...they don't know about the seal here, so Willow wouldn't stop him and bring him for interrogation. Is Johnathan dead, then?

Thanks for the feedback! The book is in Faryl because it is old, old, old. Like before human written word old. Of course it's also a copy of a copy of a copy, etc, but you take what you can get when dealing with ancient texts :)
The effects of whatever Andrew is doing will start to crop up next chapter. And eventually we'll see what's happened to Jonathan. Hope you'll keep reading!

I am just glad that Spike has Buffy by his side during this. The First doesn't know what to do and whom to go after. And the great talk between Willow and Buffy was too funny. I just love Anya. She has been through so much but is still there to help them even with the small Christmas gifts issues.
Thanks for all the feedback. Spike is still going to have many unpleasant episodes with the First, but he also didn't have It torturing him for months. Things with Willow and Faith will get stickier with Robin Wood is introduced, which I'm working on for the next chapter.

You know, the longer this story gets, the more I just love it to pieces! But I was expecting Anya to give Giles some sugar. Just a suggestion!
