A little lost here, Oscar called his daughter "Rabbit", but the one to save their family is Liam, so I must be patient. Poor little Joni, she's so young to be trying to take on so much responsibility. Her parents have an extraordinary brave little girl there. Fantastic chapter, thanks.
This is no ordinary little girl. And the place Joni came from was cold and snowy, like a snowglobe. But it was warm too, due in part to a very loving essence...

The kitchen scene was wonderful, I enjoyed how Joni interacted with her parents, and I loved how she reminisced about Homer. Can't wait to find out what happens next. Loved the chapter!
