Chapter: Unforgivable

Such a cute story, and so well written. Really like the pun(ch) at the end. Not "handling" it well indeed.
Heh... wow, I wish I could take credit for that pun, but it was entirely unintentional!

Great Chapter. Really enjoyed the gang's banter. It reminded me very much of the show.

Good way to introduce Giles, with tail-between-legs after throwing Buffy to the dogs (yet again!) Curious to see where this is headed.
Thanks, glad you liked it!

giles in trouble with red and xander for doing what they did and are planning to do again. have to love such confidence, "only I know what is best." give me more enemies and fewer friends of that caliber. very good read, thank you.
Yeah, everybody thinks they know what's best for Buffy, but nobody ever asks her what she wants.

oh i hope she convinced him to stay...i feel so bad for him, because he really meant it for the best...great chapter, love :)
Don't worry, Giles isn't going anywhere. He did mean it for the best... and at least Buffy understands, even if the Scoobies are still angry.

Lovely interchange between Buffy and Giles. Your writing in the scene is subtle and very powerful.
Thank you! What a great compliment!

So glad Buffy understands. Anya was on the money....age doth not wisdom make. We are all subject to massive screw ups.

LOVE the domestic scene that morning. Gotta give Dawn props for not teasing Spike over the shirt. Clearly she didn't want to mess things up just when they are getting interesting.

Lovely update...still wonderfully in character (okay, Buffy is a bit more mature earlier but that is to the good *G* and plausible too).

Kathleen
Well, Buffy is mature about some things... she can handle the Giles situation, because I think she has a good grasp on how to be a mature Slayer. But the personal stuff? Relationships, finances, taking care of Dawn... eh, not so much. :) Which kind of makes sense - because at 20, I wasn't mature about those things either. Being the Slayer for so long has given her maturity beyond her years about things like death and duty, but it doesn't translate well to non-Slayer aspects of her life.

Boy, was Anya right! as much as I'm pissed at him too, it's not like they should be throwing stones either. Buffy needs all the people that love her around to be there for her and for each other. Seeing Spike in Buffy's clothes, gave Dawn something to giggle about, during the day. Love this fic, thanks.
Yeah, I like when Anya's right... she doesn't get enough credit. And you don't know how much it pleased me to put Spike in a kitten t-shirt. :D

Good to see such a resolute Buffy for a change.
When it comes to being the Slayer, at least, I think she knows how to be resolute. She was pretty steadfast in a lot of season 5 ("If anyone comes near Dawn, I'll kill them" comes to mind). This is the same girl who stood up to the Council and refused to jump through hoops to get what she needed. So I think she's mature enough to tell Giles what's what. Just don't ask her to defy her friends... While the Slayer is strong, Buffy as a girl is still full of insecurities.

Wow, matureness from Buffy.....I think I might faint.
*gets out smelling salts for kim* I think it's about time she gained some maturity, don't you?

I like your version of why Giles might leave a lot better than the S6 reason given.
Thanks, I do too... I also like that he *doesn't* leave. :)

Thanks for yet another wonderful chapter. You write so well! How can the scoobies be so angry with Giles for doing what he thought was best, when they did the exact same thing with bringing Buffy back from the dead, and trying to cure her by fixing her up on a date, and constantly involving themselves in her life. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Yeah, there's a lot of "pot, kettle, black" going around. The Scoobies just see things from their perspective - THEY were trying to help, Giles almost got Buffy killed. I think Buffy has a somewhat different perspective. ;)

Great fic! Love the dialogue and interaction between the characters. Looking forward to seeing how things develop between Buffy and Spike, and how the Scoobies will react to their "relationship."
Thanks! Glad you're liking it so far.
