oh, and as for not telling her about the mating thing, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. What a completely typical Spike move. Silly vampire.

It makes me feel very sorry for Buffy. Will he ever truly and completely grasp what he means to her?

I gotta admit, in the last few chapters, i was really struggling with Spike. He was just being so... much of a poophead, you know?

And i was really considering whether I even wanted him to end up with Buffy, or have her find someone better for her.

But after the first jalf of this chapter?!?! All I could think was 'Thank god! Finally' I mean, I know he was trying to say he still had feelings for Buffy before, but I just wasn't feeling it. But this chapter, made me feel SOOOO much better about things! Yes, Spike DOES love Buffy, and Yes, it was HELL for gim to keave her.

And I can't tell you how relieved I am that Buffy was never with anyone else in their time apart, and that Spike didn't really claim a mate. No matter the circumstances, Buffy would never, and should never, forgive that.

Can't wait to see more! :D

Oh, great way to pull them together and make each of them understand each other for the first time and giving them the opening to flush out each others feelings.....and the mating, shit that was..there are no words to describe the excellence of this chapter.....but I see heart breaking scenes in the future for this act of love was done in a lie, and for Buffy it will mean finding out her lover and mate has betrayed her in more ways than one and could be even more then anyone ever has.......Hope you don't work too hard in London, and I wish I was there, LOL........

That was beautifully done -- a spectacular reunion. Buffy's honesty was suitably rewarded. There'll be strength in their unity -- not to mention from the claiming. More soon please.

well as sexy and romantic as that was, i think spike just made a huge mistake...he should have told her the truth, regardless...because maybe there *is* another way, and he's not thinking of how badly losing him would hurt her, after everyone else she's already lost :( great chapter, love, and now i'm on the edge of my seat for more :P

Excellent chapter. I really loved Spike's ranting, but my favorite part was when Buffy said Welcome home Spike and he ran into her open arms. That was perfect.

Wow, Gilly, if this is a little treat for you going to London for the week, I say you need to stay in London more often. That was incredible, their claiming and their first time together since he'd left. What Spike doesn't know won't hurt him. He's not going anywhere if Buffy has anything to say about it.
