Though I'm still worried about Dawn now. If Dawn gets captured/injured while Buffy is kissing Spike (and when she was stupid enough to leave her alone) that's only going to lead to guilt and badness! But maybe I'm being paranoid...(I blame Joss for that, you come to always look for the bad when something good happens!)

Anyhow, great chapter, great story, cannot wait for more. :)

Very nicely done!! I think this is my favorite chapter so far. Too bad that Buffy isn't so good with the verbage, because the thoughts about the soul, and Angel, and how she wanted Spike to fight for her were so very bitter-sweet and moving. Loved the way she's all "Action Girl," telling Spike with her body and eyes what she can't with words. More soon, please!

uh oh, kissing might lead to no good. more deny, more fighting, more battery and such. too fast physical connection without emotional always leads to no good. however, more story to tell. i'm hoping spike not going to run his mouth off with "join the dark" "creature of of the dark" etc.. keep going, great chapter.

Would it be bad to say that my first thought after reading the last of this chapter was "Oh Lord, she's going to break his heart."

Then again, knowing you things are not about to go smoothly. :P

Pretty pretty chapter. And, no, not just for kissing. The whole thing was really well written. Its one of the very best views of Buffy-thought I've read.

Of course, now I'm terrified you've decided to dangle that tasty looking carrot a little closer, and maybe with some ranch, but its still just out of reach.

THIS was a perfect payoff....a perfect chapter. They are both so very in character (Dawn too). Buffy FINALLY seeing her own heart and even dancing on the edge of her Angel issues just in time. Spike standing up for himself and underlining Buffy's new realization by making her realize he might just have limits after all. Excellent all round.
