I have enjoyed this story very much, though for a while I was pissed you went the way of Kick-The-Spike that so many writers turn to when they need drama. YOu handled it quick and cunning, though,with Joyce there to deliever what needed to besaid.
That said, I have a theory: Spike is the only onethat can use the amulet, because only he loves purely. Buffy hasn't, Angel hasn't...no one but Spike.
But wait...the vision!
Ah, but if you wanted to get someone to use the amulet when they would never use it, fearing itwould kill them...what would youdo?
Maybe give them a vision of their love in their rival's arms, claim their baby isn't theirs, so they have a death wish?

He's like a... a virus. A flesh eating, biohazardous virus that gets into your system and never goes away, like rabies or ebola or that thing that's killing all the birds - LMAO. Buffy needs to knock him in the head.

So Spike's human at least for now. Glad Angel and Oz are on the way (I cannot believe I just said I was glad Angel is on his way to Spike!!!).
Loved the conversation between Angel and Buffy BTW....the quip about seeing her when he's human was a hoot.
Very tense with everything happening to all of them now. Great sequence with Spike and the visions.
LOVED Joyce not only having a clue but sharing with lost-and-dazed-in-labor!
"She'd forgiven Angel his past transgressions; why was Spike, a vampire capable of being a near-model citizen without a soul, judged on a harsher scale?" Ahhhh yes, my question exactly all through the show! Spike was ALWAYS judged on a human standard not vampire and Angel was treated like two seperate entities with all non souled actions written off completely. Great time to point that out.

Yeah, the subject of Spike's villainy (or lack thereof) was handled really unevenly on the show (probably because they liked him so much as a character, and had to keep him around somehow). He's a three-dimensional love interest - no wait, he's just plain evil because he has no soul! Make up your minds, people!
