Wow!  Buffy and vamp Spike have been together for 10 years.

“This,” I tell him with a flourish, “is what I think of my life and times bein’ fodder for your academic studies.”  and so Giles is killed - to protect Spike's  life with Buffy.

It doesn't bother me that you killed off Giles. It's sad, since he believed in Spike's ability to change or whatever, but seriously, what was he really thinking? Not to say he deserved it, but what's like, almost that? God, wouldn't it be great to have Spike introduce you to the mile high club? Damn.

I'm very curious to see where this goes, I'm excited about the possibilities, thanks for the great work?

Thanks, Scar! And yeah ... Giles did kind of stumble into that one, so I *had* to kill him.

And Spike and the mile high club? *Grins.* If it was that much fun to write it ...

spike didn't kill giles. giles committed suicide. talk about not thinking something all the way through. very good read, thank you.
Ha! You're exactly right, Vladt. Glad you enjoyed.

Still following this story, and I realize I haven't given any f.b. lately. I can't help thinking of the phrase, "It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye." Wonder why that popped into my head?

Anyway, loving the story.

I hate that it is Giles but really did he expect that William would be okay with being followed? I am so glad that they have been able to make it work this long.
Thanks, Letitia. Yeah, kind of hated to kill Giles myself, but it felt necessary. Just to show that Spike has changed, but he hasn't actually repented. :)

I can see his point. Had he let Giles live and that book get out others, not so pleasant others, might decide on a different sort of stalking. Sad about Giles but understandable. I think Buffy (even without the details) understands that.

Glad to see them still together and in love as Buffy ages gracefully.

I really do love this story.

Wonder what THIS Spike would do when he looses his Buffy though, how much HAS he changed in the day to day way of things. Giles was a necessary kill but without Buffy to give him pause would he revert? Interesting questions.

Kathleen
Thanks, Kathleen! I wanted to write a gracefully aging Buffy ... for all of us out there who are doing so ourselves. ;)

I can't believe Giles would be so naive. Then again, without the fine example of Angel turning into Angelus, maybe he would be.
Yeah. I'm taking the view that Buffy changed Giles quite a bit ... and without her in his life, he stayed more Tweedy and Clueless than he did on the show. And no Buffy, so, as you say no Angel/us.

Ouch. Not so big on redemption,is he?
Nope. It's not his thing. ;)

Whoa! Just when it seems they're working it out... Spike is still a bad boy. I wonder if their little truce will hold for the rest of her life, now that she knows he can still kill if he feels the need.
Yup ... he's still quite the fangy fellow. And Buffy isn't nearly as troubled by it as she *might* be. Thanks for the review!

Wonderful chapter; can't help but wonder, what's gonna happen as Buffy gets older and older? Is the turning question going to arise? Please update again soon!!
Glad you enjoyed ... and I think the next chapter is the last one, so all will be answered. Soon, promise! ;)

Oh, funny, Giles being a champion for redeemed vampires. But I understand why Spike did what he did...that chronicle actually did scare him. He knows there are things bigger and badder than him in the world, and even if he was safe, Buffy wouldn't be.
Thanks, Kim! I did kind of enjoy Giles pursuing Spike, if only for research purposes. :)

Ten years.. and so goes Giles.
And she has already mentioned age.
Vampire Chronicles-- with his picture would have a tendency to make Spike an obvious target. So much for anonymity. My life.. an open book..literally.

Don't think the Watcher Group will be so foolish next time.

Enjoyed..
Thanks. I was very nervous about killing Giles, but I had to kill someone ... or rather, Spike did.

Oh dear, maybe I need to go watch something light-hearted on TV and switch off my brain for a while. I'm starting to sound insane. :)
