And seriously, if Buffy does the whole "oh my God, you killed him, he was human and you just killed him, you evil you" thing, I'm going to... Hm. Not much choice with a fictional character, is there? I'm going to write a story in which she falls madly in love with a mucus demon?

WOW! That was an azmazing chapter!! Feel a bit sorry for Jacob...but not too sorry. Hehe. Glad they saved the day- especially Tara, 'coz she doesn't get to do much usually. Bravo!!

Yay for non-working Initiative chips allowing Spike to save the day! Really hope the Scoobies don't try to hold it against him. I'm glad Jacob wasn't in on it, but even w/o the recent Spike developments, I can't imagine Buffy could still be comfortable around him after his father went all homicidal.
You just knew that chip shorting out when it did was gonna come in handy. :) And yeah, I think this is pretty much the end of things with Buffy and Jacob. :)

Oooo, well done! The team working together, the realistic fights, Spike going balls out for Buffy. And Tara got to be a hero, instead of the background witch, which always makes me happy.
Thanks! I like giving Tara some hero action. When I plotted this one out, one of the main reasons for incapacitating Willow was that I knew it'd give Tara a chance to shine. :)

You know.. Buffy's little can't kill a human is ... going against a code? Glad Spike was there . And is she going to give him grief for that.. At least Daddy is dead..

Killing humans has always been a line Buffy was hesitant to cross (probably because it would make her like Faith), even if there are gray areas like this one. Thanks for the review!

YES! Good job one and all. I imagine Xander and Giles might still have negatives to say about Spike doing the deed but it saved Buffy not only from death but from having to carry the weight of killing a human on her shoulders. Sooner or later she'd have trouble with that.
Excellent high energy fight scenes. Good tension. Nice dash of humor with the phone book observation by Giles. Well done.

Thank you for the lovely review! I think you're right about Buffy - even though she knew he was a bad guy, it bothered her enough to hesitate. I don't think it would've sat well with her if she'd actually killed him. Glad you enjoyed the chapter!

Awesome, awesome chapter; can't wait to see what the consequences are for Spike's actions; I think he deserves a medal, but I'm sure Buffy and the rest of the Scoobs are gonna have issues!!
