Great story all in all, I loved the happy ending...I'm a sucker for happy endings.
The characterization was excellent. Spike wasn't a crybag for the scoobies, Buffy was a heartless bitch for awhile(Bad, Bad, Bad) Spike forgave her to easily(Bad, Bad, Bad)
I'd definitely read it again though.

WOW! i couldn't stop reading. it was funny,suspenseful,angsty,fluffly: in short everything a great Spuffy Fic needs.

a) cute ending! loved it!
b) fabulous story!!!!!! i soooo would have reviewed every chapter of the way, but i just wanted to finish it sooo badly, and oh me gosh was i pleased! this a a great fic! wonderfully written, fantastic plot, realistic twists and character developments, love the character interaction!

Aww, thank you, I'm so glad that you stuck with it all this time :) Here's a little secret -- when I'm finally in a place where I'm satisfied with how all my stories are going, there's going to be an OoMH sequel; it's been in planning for about four years. It might be a while before it comes out, but keep an eye out for it when it does ;) Thanks for reading!

Oh, I never questioned that for a second. To explain what I meant further: in the original version, the point you wanted to make above wasn't conveyed within the confines of the story, in my opinion. It was instead of given, something you had to understand if you knew the show or other fanfics. What you've done in the expanded version is to offer a rationale for Buffy's paranoia about relationships, and that makes it work better for me. Not that I disliked it, before, you understand--only that I like it still better, now.
Yeah, when I first wrote this, my mind was at the point where I wanted reviews, so i just threw the chapters out as fast as i got them written, and I didn't have a beta then who would help me clarify some points :) I'm older now than I was when i wrote the story originally -- that was six years ago, if you're keeping tabs -- and when I reread it, I realized how empty some points of it were, and i got mad and ganked the whole thing off of the Internet so i could revise it. And also, i now have a very kind, very intelligent beta in the form of Megan (Peta) who helps me keep my ass in gear and makes me look at my stories logically when there are plot holes. Heh. I'm glad you like it better :D

I've enjoyed and read this fic twice, before. The revision does help with a couple of problems, especially in the scene where Buffy formerly decided for no apparent reason to channel her inner bitch and call Spike Angel at a particularly vulnerable moment. Good filling out in general, everybody pretty much IC, and some nice writing. I especially like the opening scene in its entirety, a fine example of comic action that doesn't go over the top. Good job!
Well, Buffy's a paranoid psycho, but she's also a paranoid psycho who is terrified of love. She's terrified of love in general because she's seen what it can do, she's terrified to love another man, and she's REALLY terrified of loving another vampire. Somewhere in the really deep recesses of her mind, calling Spike "Angel" at the crucial moment made sense toher. It would "save" her from being hurt -- and of course it didn't. Glad that you enjoyed the new version of it :) Thanks for reviewing!

I hope so, too :) I'm currently working on a small Spike/Dawn friendship (sorta) piece. Remember when Dawn talked about how Spike got her out of the mansion when Angelus kidnapped her? ~_^ Thanks for the review.
