Yes. A bit earlier and things will be just a little different. Here is where I veer off out of canon and into really AU. Not saying anything about Ethan. :)

Yes. I think more than anything, she's being grumpy with herself. She liked that kiss a little too much and it's wigging her out. who better to "beat up" on than our Spike?

Spike won't think of leaving now. No one kills his Slayer but him (*cough*). Love that you had him point out to her that those terrible spells were as intrusive on him as her! It ISN'T all about Buffy (hope Joyce sets her straight about that and about how Spike has never tried to hurt her without the chip. In fact when Buffy trusted Spike to leave town after they cleared things up with Angelus and headed to LA she left her mom open to attack by him if he so chose because of the open invitation! He had all that time to harm Joyce and never did it ... never!) Oh dear, I do rant!
She is really rattled by the kisses and her reactions (not to mention the truth serum reply).
He's really rattled by his protective urges where Buffy is concerned. He is actually having to CONSCIOUSLY make up other reasons because he knows well the real ones. LOL
Excellent.
Adam and his last orders are a perfect scary threat towards Buffy. The threat toward Spike being his value as escaped "property" of th US government and their official plans for their lab rat. These two are both at serious risk.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. I like my Spike to have some balls, so I had to have him getting in Buffy's face. That's one thing about my story that will be different than canon. No making a clown out of our hero. )
