After discovering the joy that is BtVS in 2007 (quickly followed by a discovery of the joy that is fic--so fantabulous! I had no idea!) I followed the trail of bread crumbs from various shiny archive sites to LiveJournal. Compelled to bring a little something to the all-you-can-eat Spuffy buffet (Spuffet?), I wrote a few haiku about Spike which quickly turned into lots of haiku about Spike, or Spaiku. (Technically, I guess it's more senryu than haiku, but "Spaikryu" just doesn't have the same ring, you know?)  While I never, ever would have dreamed that I would have frequent urges to write novelty poetry about a television vampire or to do bad things to my action figure version of said television vampire, take pictures of it, and post them on the interwebz, I'm very glad I did. I treasure my first fandom experience and the wonderful people I've met along the way, and I hope to be engaged in Spike-related naughtiness for a long time to come.
