Had forgotten to look for updates, but I'm glad there was one. Good that Angel and Giles are still on her side.

Well, I'm kinda bummed about the delayed update, because I forgot the details of the last chapters, but this chapter was worth the wait. I'm looking forward to more. Needless to say, you write really well and it just reads so smoothly, you don't get that a lot in a fanfiction. So thanks, and please update soon!

This is amazing and you have to finish writing it ASAP before I totally lose my freaking mind!  LOVE LOVE LOVE this story, which is big for me because I typically hate the Buffy-gets-sired stories, but this one is completely faboo and entirely fuckhot

Together again.......and it's going to be interesting. Knew he wouldn't reject her with a soul, of course, but staying isn't going to be easy, either. There's only so much he can understand without the full depth of empathy in a soul.

I don't think you mean lampooned at the top of this chapter - the only meaning I know for the word is to satirize or caricature something.

Great to read a set of new Holly stories -  This is terrific - an outstanding use of the Slayers from the series and the theme of mating.   Especially nice and interesting is the way that you bring in the idea of conditions that sent Buffy to Spike in her spell imposed vampire persona and their coming together.

It's been a long time since I read a Buffy Vamped work - I like how you make Buffy and Spike live through a period of the natural vampire existence - and now having to learn how to live with that part of her life.  Look forward to reading how you develop Spike's changed life now that his mate must bring such drastic changes to their mating bonds.

Heart breaking Giles treatment -

i've flown through the prequel, and the first chapters of this story.  it's such an interesting twist to buffy's story!  i love it. you've kept things moving at such a good pace, and all the twists and complications make reading so fun.  i almost had a stroke when it was angel at the door and not spike.  good twist!

Great chapter. Lots of details for what our characters are going through, without losing the reality of how Spike needs to find clues to track her down and Buffy deals with practical details about where to stay and how to move around even while the confusion and horror and guilt are drowning her. I loved how she thought about Spike, and hope they can meet up soon.

I'm not a fan of Angel, but I thought he could be the voice of reason as he spoke in the last chapter about giving Buffy time and space, where the younger Scoobs might not understand that clinging to her might make things worse. Of course, Angel himself always knows better! Jerk. I hope Buffy is able to stand up for herself if he tries to pressure her into letting him take charge of her, of knowing better and knowing exactly what she's going through, and taking advantage of that. I think their personalities and experiences are very different.

And if Angel reacts with anger or tries to make her feel ashamed for being mated to Spike, I hope Buffy loses a bit of control of her demon and throws him across the room. :)

wow, that, I didn't expect. I liked the fact that Buffy isn't all "good buffy" and that she "accidentally" killed a guy even though she was souled. It's fitting.

Whoa! Guess that locator spell worked, eh? Was about to think Spike had worked fast...

Poor Buffy, with the confusion of her old self dueling with the desires/instincts of a vampire.

I hope Angel tries to be a good friend to her right now. He's knows exactly what she's feeling. He tried soothing his soul by eating "bad people" instead of random victims and that probably came after Angelus' hunger had taken advantage a time or two (though Angel probably had more control of his body after over a hundred years than Buffy does after 6 months - especially with Angelus' love of prolonging torture before the kill).

Exellent, i don't think the scoobies can help her or even Angel.  Angel will use this as an excuse of why they are destined to be when in fact they are very different.  She's much more like Spike then Angel.  Like Spike she loved while soulles.  I do think however that she's underestemating how loyal Spike is.   If the soul can't be lost then he would still stand by her her even going as far as fighting evil with her if she chooses too.  Hell, he might even get a soul himself just so he can be with her and make her suffering bearable by sharing it.  And yes she was an evil vamp, yet like soulles Spike she didn't go overboard with the evil like Angelus and Buffy really didn't want to kill Kendra, Kendra gave her no choice.

So Buffy called....but wants to disappear.
Nice to see Angel being the voice of calm, knowing how devastating it is to suddenly get the soul back.
Poor Spike, with a vague location clue, but no answers.
Then Faith shows up.

Excellent chapter. You managed to bring out real emotion both for Spike and Buffy's old friends, and the atmosphere of the scenes and the character's reactions were different but powerful.

After learning about the crisis for Buffy and how it's affecting everyone, and desperate to know more, the sudden return of the Council's search for Buffy and the question of why is placed perfectly. For vampires, an attack by crossbow is an almost mundane event and it shows that the world keeps going even if for Spike it feels like his immediate loss of Buffy overweighs everything. It reminded me of the scene in The Body when Joyce has died, and Xander had double-parked his car, too upset to care about minding rules; then, we see a cop placing a ticket on his car from the window as the real world keeps turning normally no matter how it feels to an individual.

I thought you handled Buffy's characterization particularly well and in a unique way. The soul has often been treated as nothing but a conscience, though usually powerful enough to force a world of guilt on a vampire they can't ignore. I'm glad you are viewing it as a part of what makes Buffy who she is and that it plays a part in her personality as a whole. Her feelings in the beginning reveal a little of the Angel/Angelus divide, but in a way that makes sense and doesn't lessen her past or vampire self. It wasn't that Buffy was controlled by evil when without her soul, but she truly isn't the same person now from then. I liked the hints we got from Giles and Angel talking about having one soul or one demon only and how Buffy will feel. She isn't only the soul of the Slayer, but she still has a demon that wishes to be with its mate, and she doesn't separate herself from it in order to hate Spike.

I'm very interested in seeing where you take this story and handle the characters. This was a wonderful chapter, keep up the good work.

It worked. And Spike slept through it....poor Buffy. She could have been held.

Nice to know about Joyce. And Faith has Wes. I'm glad that Jenny was going to be doing the spell, too, not Willow.

Anxious to know how Buffy will get through the next few minute or hours. I'm sure Spike will be more upset that she's been cursed than for the soul itself. Her friends will have to worry about him forcing them to undo it.

Love this. Not a big vamp Buffy fan usually and if she became a totally evil monster who just killed without thought, I doubt I'd keep reading, but I like the current line she's walking. Very believable happy medium of soulless and still keeping with what makes Buffy, Buffy. And of course, watching her and Spike's relationship blossom makes it all the more fun.

This is going to be hard for me to read, i'm not a fan of vampire buffy, especially not if she's an evil one, and it really pains me that she killed kendra, even though the girl was beyond annoying, but i read the first one and i love your stories, so i'm going to try and stick it out.  i actually hope they do restore her soul though, i hate seeing buffy like this.
