This was a wonderful story, which I enjoyed immensely. And I would like to thank you for ending it the way you did. It would have ruined it completely for me if it had ended up one big forgiveness fest, because 'the scoobies' can do no wrong. Bloody brilliant.

Great second reading, think I enjoyed it even more this time post all the current comic books. Like how you ended it showing that Buffy can still feel sorrow and sympathy for what happened to Willow. I hope there is a sequel - this is such a great story.
I really don't find myself getting into the comic books at all - even though I tried.
I haven't thought of a sequel, but I am currently stuck for ideas, so maybe I will!

Heartbreakingly beautiful. Thabk you for this awesome fic :-
You are quite welcome. Thanks for the encouragement!
01/19/2013 12:41 am
And Willow finally gets her comeuppance. Hurrah! Excellent story, lots of yummy Spuffy goodness and lots of tension. Very well written.
Glad you liked it! Now I really do have to get writing again...
11/17/2012 11:31 pm
That was a completely satisfying end to a completely satisfying story!
I'm not as good a person as Buffy and feel completely fine with Willow having amnesia! Also of course I love the fact Buffy still retained her feelings and stayed with Spike despite what her friends think about it! And I'm in one mind with Dawn, where excitement over Spuffy is concerned.
Love the story from the beginning to the end!
Thanks so much for reviewing every chapter! I am so glad you liked the story!
11/04/2012 07:37 pm
Loved this story! So glad that Buffy accepted her feelings from her post-death state instead of dismissing them. I too would love to read a sequel if you feel inspired.
Thank you so much! I've been seeking inspiration lately, haven't found it yet, but maybe a sequel will be the key.
10/24/2012 01:43 pm
A fitting finale with Willow's plight, she probably would never have given up trying to fix Buffy, who is happily on the way to recovery now. I always enjoy tales where the Scoobies get their comeuppance, and this was a fine one. Thank you for writing.
You are so welcome. And thank you for the reviews which spur me on!
10/01/2012 01:35 pm
So Willow's in the same condition as Buffy was when she first came back. Bleeding poetic justice if you ask me. Couldn't have happened to a nicer girl. Super fic, great ending.
Thanks so much. Glad you liked it!
09/28/2012 10:03 am
I thought Willow in a coma was a pretty good idea, since she can't do any harm form there, but her waking up amnesic, that was priceless. Love the little life Buffy and Spike have going. Thanks for putting up the epilogue so fast. Do you already have a next story in the pipes?
Thanks for all the reviews! I am glad you liked it. I am putting the finishing touches on a short-ish story right now, and I just got a good idea for one after that while folding Mt. Washmore this afternoon, so stay tuned!
09/28/2012 08:54 am
And it all ends well. It's gives me a good feeling reading this.
Thanks so much. I appreciate all the reviews.
09/28/2012 05:54 am
Thank you for giving us this lovely story to enjoy :)
You are ever so welcome.
09/28/2012 04:53 am
Thoroughly enjoyed this! It feels like all the ends are tied up but you still left an opening for a sequel
Now you're the second person who mentioned a sequel. I wasn't envisioning one, but maybe I should...
09/28/2012 03:59 am
Enjoyed your story.
It's nice when Karma works.
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed.
09/28/2012 02:40 am
I can't help but feel that the ending is a bit abrupt - I'd been hoping for more resolution between the characters, maybe more of a confrontation between Buffy and Willow. BUT. Buffy came to her senses (ha) and laid down the law in a way that I think is perfectly justifiable, and even perfectly healthy and reasonable. Giles can accept that she's an adult who makes her own decisions, or he can get the hell out.
Well done, all around. Thanks for writing this and sharing it with us.
I toyed with making it longer, but it kept sucking after that point. I literally wrote about five different endings, and none of them worked as well as this one. I figured I'd rather leave people wanting more, than have it peter out into suckage. My personal pet peeve is stories that drag out for chapters beyond where they should just call it done.
But I am glad you liked it anyway! Thanks for all the reviews.
09/28/2012 01:29 am
Poetic justice! Willow can't remember who she is. It's perfect. I am so glad Spike talked her down, it would kill Dawn to lose her again so soon.
So glad you liked it!
09/28/2012 12:27 am
Is there going to be a sequel or will that be all? I am going to miss this world .
I am not sure what shape a sequel would take. But who knows, maybe someday I'll be inspired!
10/01/2012 01:21 pm
Wow didn't see that coming. Could almost feel sorry for Willow if she wasn't such a control freak. Still this can't be good for Buffy, hoping Spike can find her soon.
Read on, MacDuff!
09/26/2012 09:19 am
I like how the Slayer saw the evil in Willow and attaced her. She did get her memoty back and hppefully Spike can help her deal with it.
Evil tends to come back and bite you in the behind, doesn't it? Glad you liked it.
09/26/2012 04:39 am
As with last chapter, I continue to maintain that Xander is a dumbfuck. While Willow not only got EXACTLY what was coming to her, but will likely wake up still convinced that none of this was her fault and that she should be allowed to "fix it" some more. PLEASE tell me there is a major, major intervention in her future.
I mean, seriously! "I guess it worked"? THAT is what dipshit Xander takes away from this experience?! ARGH! I am so close to pulling this fic over by the side of the road and pulling these characters out for a good beating, I just don't even know.
:) In other words: excellent update! Looking forward to more! Tee-hee!
Thanks so much! I love the image of pulling the fic to the side of the road for a good character beating. That cracked me up.
09/26/2012 02:42 am
Wow! Awesome! And I have to admit that it was pretty satisfying to have Willow get what was coming to her.
Yeah, that was fun to write. Thanks so much for the review!
09/26/2012 01:57 am
Buffy needs to beat Xander alot more. Can Willow stay in a coma for awhile? Pretty please?
Well, okay. But only since you asked nicely...
09/26/2012 01:37 am
Oh my God, I think I forgot to breathe there for a while. I'm running out of words to express how fantastic this story is. It's so emotional and deep and just amazing. Thank you for the quick update, that was a nice surprise.
Thank you so very much! The encouraging reviews really help keep me going!
09/26/2012 01:00 am
I KNEW IT!! Xander and his jealousy. Willow and her need to control everyone. I hope they are happy. But for some strange reason I doubt this will stop either one of them. Xander wants to be the one to tell Buffy what to do and heaven forbid if it looks like someone else is taking over that role. Big whoop, Spike and Buffy kissed. Xander wanted Buffy to be kissing him that was the problem. Anya isn't Buffy and it's Buffy who he really wants. Willow, she wants control, she wants people to bow down in front of her for her magical ability. Even though by now she should have realized that just because she is powerful doesn't mean she knows what the hell she is doing with all that power.
I guess this means Tara won't be moving out! I really can't see any more Willow and Tara smoochies in the near future. Gotta wonder what would have happened if a spell of that power had bounced off the wards instead. If only they had gone back inside, Willow might have burned herself out instead! I hope Giles puts both of them in their place once and for all. And that place should be as far out of Buffy's life as possible.
Glad you're still so into the story! I hope that the ending (coming fairly soon) will be to your liking.
11/17/2012 11:07 pm
Can't say I blame Spike for kissing back, even if the consequenceas promise to be big.
Now I just REALLY hope the Slayer part of her doesn't do too much damage to him.
Hard to know what an out of control Slayer will do...
09/21/2012 11:51 am
Super update. Oh no, if Willow manages to unleash the primal slayer does that mean she'll go after Spike? Doesn't sound good. As you said Willow only needs an excuse to start throwing her magic around. Anya knows better, but can't cope with the hassle arguing about it would cause. They don't care about anyone else but themselves, I so want them to get theirs. Looking forward to more.
Thanks so much for the review. I hope to get the next installment up soon. But who knows what will happen when the Slayer awakes..
09/19/2012 10:35 am
Wow, Giles is actually thinking at last but he needs to do more than lose his temper with Willow. As for Xander, he really could have starred in Dumb and Dumber. I guess it's too much to hope that Anya might get a backbone before the night's shenanigans wreak havoc. Ooh maybe the Slayer could give Willow the lesson she so sorely needs. And poor Buffy no doubt will suffer no matter what happens. Terrific update and better late than never!
Thanks so much! It would have been up sooner if I hadn't lost my beta's email in a sea of Parent Teacher Committee garbage!
09/19/2012 09:21 am
Good character interaction. And now they will try a new spell. Well if they did think it through then maybe they can do it right but Willow doesn't think she can do wrong and Xander doesn't know what can go wrong. Xander has a simple way of thinking about this (Buffy being back=good) that makes it harder to be mad at him about this, Willow is the one that should know better. Let's see what happens. If the spell doesn't work, good, if it does it will probably go wrong.
It was hard to be mad at Xander at that point in the series. But definitely he gave us enough reasons later in Season 6 to make me want to smack him.
Thanks for the review!
09/19/2012 09:10 am
Xander come on what are you doing? What an idiot! I'm thinking they're just gonna turn Buffy into an axe murderer and make her even more miserable. Glad Any is reacting they way she is. She's the most sane one of the bunch. And go Tara for not giving in to Willow's whining. Looking forward to more soon.
We shall have to see what happens. But yeah, no way was Tara going to put up with that.
09/19/2012 05:00 am
Xander, you managed to blow the one little brownie point I would have given you for not storming in the house screaming when you saw Buffy kiss Spike. Which wouldn't have happed if you had just stayed away like you should have!
He reminds me of my sons. They never listen...
09/19/2012 03:53 am
It's amazing how Willow twists things in her mind to justify make her actions as more benign than they are.
That amazed me on the show. Her reasoning for doing what she did to Tara was completely skewed, but made so much sense to her. Craziness.
09/19/2012 03:19 am
Sorry, I was logged out for that last review because the website was acting funky. Still is, but I wanted to be sure I got a notification in case you replied.
Also: Xander, you dumb FUCK. *facepalm*
LOL, what are you trying to say? :-)
09/19/2012 03:13 am
Oh, Xander, you dumb FUCK.
Sorry, I really shouldn't put profanity into a review, but good lord I swear the man needs to be beaten with a clue-by-four. At least Anya's reasoning for participating in this makes sense.
NOT looking forward to whatever happens next; Assuming the spell doesn't bounce off the wards and send Willow into a coma, we could have a homicidal, deranged lunatic on our hands.
Also: excellent writing, by the way, since I'm able to get so completely into the story that that is all I can focus on.
I'm all about the profanity, especially after the long day at work I've had.
Thanks so much for the complement! Hopefully I haven't raised your blood pressure too much!
09/19/2012 02:24 am
This is NOT going to go well. But maybe Spike can catch them and actually get violent.
Violence is being planned, never fear.
09/19/2012 02:09 am
Oh for the love of.... I swear, Spike just needs to grab all three girls and make a run for it. Willow and Xander are going to kill someone! And they will get away with it, simply because they were trying to 'help'. I hope something bad happens to the two of them because of this. Seriously what is Spike supposed to do? Shove Buffy away? She is so fragile right now and they can't understand it or don't want to understand it. Spike should just give them the bot and let them go nuts. They can program her to be exactly the kind of Buffy they want.
Gotta wonder, would they notice it was the bot this time...?
11/17/2012 10:47 pm
And protector Buffy is rising her head! Poor Tara, I'm glad that she's at least in a house safe from Willow's magic.
The moment is nearing though right? I hope when Buffy does remember, she won't forget the Spike who's been taking care of her.
It's coming... just wait and see...
09/06/2012 02:44 am
How big a snit fit will Willow have when she finds out Tara is welcome at the house and she isn't?
Is the locator spell not working cause Tara was in the house and protected, or because Willow still has a bad case of burnout?
The locator spell wasn't working because Tara was in the house. However, Willow doesn't know that...
09/05/2012 08:49 am
I'm really looking forward to the denouement of your tale. Good job.
Thank you so much! I am trying to get to that denouement, but the school term has started, and there are students everywhere like herds of buffalo trampling my free time...
09/05/2012 03:35 am
I like the way things in common are bonding Buffy to Spike and Buffy to Tara lending more of a base for her memories to return. Glad that Gile's wards are working. How would Buffy feel about those if she knew? Willow seems to think that wards and her magic are comparable actions.
Ah, but if you read closely, Willow doesn't really know about the wards. She knows her magic is going wonky, but doesn't know why. That will make a difference sometime soon...
09/03/2012 10:41 pm
Dawn is doing fantastically well and even Anya is seeing sense. Poor Tara, it's high time Giles got off his high horse and did something useful, and less of the huffing and grouching is a huge improvement. I love how it was Buffy who helped Tara. Another cracking chapter.
Thanks ever so much!
09/03/2012 07:15 pm
Yay for protective Dawn, supportive Anya, and for Tara in general! I think having her around might even be good for Buffy. Here's hoping Xander clues in soon.
Well, don't hold your breath on Xander cluefulness. But glad you are still following along!
09/03/2012 04:26 pm
Another great chapter B - I think your writing would be stronger if you stayed inside one person's head for each scene. It's a little hard to keep up with the POV changes. For example in the scene with Tara and Willow, you start from T's POV then go to Willow. If you want to do that there should be a break. Or, you can stay with Tara and show what Willow's up to through dialog or actions.
Whose story... an excellent question. I appreciate reviews like this a lot, because they make me think.
I felt I had to spend some time in Willow and Tara's heads, because it all ties together. I mean, why was Willow so desperate to fix things in the series? Why was Xander all 'give her a week and she'll be fine' in After Life? As we'll see later in this story, Xander and Willow's proprietary feelings about Buffy, without Tara putting the brakes on, can lead them to act without thinking. This chapter did veer away from Buffy a little, because she is still in this holding pattern where she can't remember, doesn't necessarily want to try hard to remember, and mostly just wants things quiet and safe. But I needed to get Tara in the house, because Tara's presence will trigger something in Buffy that leads her to move a little out of her comfort zone, which will lead to a whole bunch of action.
I do try not to jump from one person's head to another, but then I end up writing while distracted (a lot of this was written during a family train trip, with interspersed conversations with the kiddos) and odd things happen. This story was easy to start, but is becoming tough to finish. I may take you up on the idea bouncing!
09/03/2012 02:14 pm
Even broken and unable to remember why, Buffy still wants to help vulnerable people - particularly from 'the one with the voice' and magic. Perfect characterisation.
Thanks so muich!
09/03/2012 11:31 am
It's great to see all the good guys under one roof. I can't wait to see the wicked witches reaction to the latest developments. I'm hoping the protection spell had more of an effect on Willow than we first thought, She doesn't deserve to be so powerful.
A lot of people have power that don't deserve it. But what they do with it makes things interesting...
09/03/2012 10:24 am
Great update, still reading eagerly, still loving it. Poor Tara. I loved Buffy's reaction.
Good, I was hoping people would think that worked.
09/03/2012 08:20 am
Now they know how bad Willow is. Buffy is getting better and letting Tara stay, good.
Glad you like!
09/03/2012 05:27 am
It's nice to see Buffy feeling empathy for Tara. She's coming along well.
Slowly but surely, she is coming around. But will it be fast enough for the rest of the Scoobies?
09/03/2012 05:17 am
Oh Willow! I hope this really bites you on the ass. Both of them are out of your reach right now. I don't doubt she will still try something to try and breach the wards. Hopefully she doesn't turn Giles into a toad! (Although that would be pretty funny!) Buffy is making progress. Offering to let Tara stay there is a step forward. Now that Willow turned her magic on Tara that puts them in the same boat. Lost memories because of Willow.
Alas, there will be no amphibians in this story :-)
Glad you're still with me though!
08/26/2013 08:05 am
Love how you are bringing Buffy back so slowly but with every advance someone has to pay a price. Your treatment for Giles and his oh so unwilling giving over any trust and acceptance of Spike.
Glad you like it! I appreciate the time you take to leave a review.
09/01/2012 02:10 pm
Well I'm not surprised by Gile's reaction, the Sccobs have a history of using and abusing Spike. He never got any credit for sticking around after Buffy died, or when he got his soul. It's obvious that he expects Spike to slink back into the shadows once he's done his bit in bringing Buffy to herself. As for Willow, she deserves whatever's oming her way.
Spike's not going anywhere, never fear! Glad you are along for the ride!
08/29/2012 02:15 am
Willow gets her spell thrown back at her, LOL! She deserved it. Now if Tara can just figure out about the memory tampering.
Giles, be careful. Dawn might just decide to kick you out too if you start upsetting Buffy.
Yeah, Dawn is coming out fierce in this one, isn't she? Don't worry - Tara will be figuring things out relatively soon, and it's going to be bad for Willow.
08/28/2012 04:14 pm
Slapped myself for not checking if this was finished when I got to the end of this chapter, since I'm liking this story as well as your writing and really would like to find out where you plan to take this.
I am so glad you like it! I am still working on it, never fear! I hate unfinished stories - they drive me crazy, so I won't do that to my readers, I promise.
08/27/2012 12:21 pm
I knew Willow would try something... and of course she's just going to keep trying harder.
And of course Giles is willing for Spike to stay around while he's helping, but he's assuming he can control Buffy's feelings for Spike. Idiot
Buffy was always surrounded by buttinskies, wasn't she? And Willow doesn't give up easily, you're correct in that.
08/27/2012 12:11 pm
What a lovely long update! Spike is definitely helping Buffy the right way but how will she react to him being a vamp? I hope Tara realises what's going on with Willow, she doesn't deserve to be so deluded, and typical Giles reaction, my way or the highway!
Thank you so much! I've been trying to get further along in the story before I posted, so that I know that the story hangs together. The next update will probably be longish as well, so you have something to look forward to!
08/27/2012 08:30 am
This felt so sweet and a bit of sadnes.
Thanks so much magnus! Glad you're still reading!
08/27/2012 05:08 am
Such a great chapter. I love the tenderness that Spike and Buffy feel for each other. They are such a great team, even when one of them has barely a clue about it! And good for Spike to stand his ground with stupid Giles.
So glad you liked it! Spike never was one to back down.
08/27/2012 04:08 am
Of for the love of.... She was having a pretty good day all things considered. Okay yeah bad dream in the morning and the flash of Joyce wasn't good but otherwise not a bad day. And Giles has to start up. Can't he just let sleeping dog lie for a bit? Buffy is going to connect the dots soon. She didn't hear his heartbeat. Depending on what Giles does she just might panic and toss Spike out. Then where will they be when she has another nightmare and knocks Dawn and Giles through a wall?
Willow got some backlash huh? Serves her right. Tara is figuring out what Willow did to her. That conversation isn't going to be pretty.
You just can't get the Watcher to turn off, can you? It's always hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
Yeah, Willow and Tara's blowup is coming, and it's not going to be a lot of fun. Well, not for them. The readers might like it though...
08/21/2012 06:24 am
Still loving this story. You know, I always wondered why there weren't more physical ramifications to the forgetting spells that Willow cast on Tara so often. I look forward to finding out what's next.
Thanks so much! I am working on the next chapter as quickly as I can.
08/20/2012 04:27 pm
A nice beginning of the chapter and a sort of creepy end.
Don't worry, Willow's bound to get found out sooner or later.
08/17/2012 01:25 am
She had half a mind to pick out the most mismatched things she could find as some sort of punishment for Willow
- - asjdfHee - love wicked tough guy Dawn. Loved Spike planning to chase off Dawn's potential boyfriend. Loved Tara snitching out Willow to Dawn. Loved how Willow thinks Buffy should just snap out of it. That's really evil!
I had fun imagining Dawn on a rampage, I must admit.
08/16/2012 10:24 pm
Loved Dawn's "worry about violence from me, I don't have a chip", and how Tara stepped up, and how Willow is still quietly, gradually becoming more and more creepy, for lack of a better term. Oh, and Buffy's progress of course, if you can call it that, still looks "natural" to me, you know, not too much, not too little, believable and credible. you're doing a really great job with unfolding the various subplots and actions not too quickly, and not too slowly. I feel like I'm reading a book and I can see things moving forward.
Thanks so much for the thoughtful review! I hope things are unfolding fast enough to keep you interested, but not so fast that stuff gets left out!
08/16/2012 04:21 pm
OMG!! Can I just say how much I love Dawn! "Worry more about violence from me, I don’t have a chip.” That is the best thing I have ever heard!! LOL
Ugh, season 6 Willow gives me the creepy crawlies. Giles better get those damn wards up and quickly! Xander just blindly following his crayon buddy. Giles willing to put his head in the sand. Both of them need wake up calls and fast before someone gets really hurt or dies.
So glad you liked it! Wake up calls have been ordered, and will be arriving soon.
08/16/2012 03:01 pm
Let's hope Giles has that protection spell in place, it's going to be needed pretty soon I'd say now that Willow is on a roll. You've really caught the prissy side of Giles but at least Dawn gave him a reality check. Well done.
Thanks so much. Dawn definitely had a defiant side that I enjoy exploring.
08/16/2012 01:50 pm
Good for Tara - and Dawn. Willow is sliding further and further down that slipperly slope... poor Tara...
We shall have to see where Willow lands at the bottom...
11/17/2012 09:55 pm
Oh Willow messing with everyones minds is going to be a blast (insert sarcasm here).
Ah, I remember why i love Anya so much, she's brilliant! Tara too.
Willow is the source of endless inspiration due to her complete inability to leave well enough alone.
08/20/2012 04:12 pm
The fact that Willow can't see the problem with what she does is really scary.
Yes, and she had that problem during the show too. The scene where she and Amy were toying with everyone at the Bronze always seemed a bit creepy.
08/12/2012 06:47 pm
Excellent update. I like wwatching Willow's descent into darkness with all the best intentions (well, mostly) and seeing the ways in which you incorporate canon, while at the same time getting into the story enough that Willow is seriously pissing me off. Xaner is stubborn but at least willing to listen, and his heart is in the right place. Really enjoying the story!
Thank you so much. There is so much good canon stuff to play with that I can't resist incorporating it (thanks Joss!). Willow needed a lot of smacking in the show, and I hope to deliver some by the end.
08/10/2012 11:59 am
Super update. See Willow's still on her power trip, she doesn't seem able to accept any criticism. Thank god for Gile's, Tara and even Anya. Looking forward to more.
Thank you so much! The plot is still thickening, and as soon as I get the next chapter back from being beta'd, it will be up!
08/10/2012 04:43 am
Prime Xander nastiness, you've really got him at his most horrible. What with him and Willow's megalomania, you don't need any other baddies! I'm glad Tara isn't completely oblivious... yet. She needs to protect herself.
And how. It always amazed me how Willow could do that stuff to the woman she loved. More fallout of Willow's behavior, coming soon to a BSV near you!
08/10/2012 03:52 am
I mean she was dead for five months just fine without us - LOL - great Anya. Waiting anxiously for Willow to do something spectacularly awful.
Glad you liked that line. And Willow's next installment of awfulness is in progress!
08/09/2012 01:38 pm
Fantastic chapter! Willow seems to be in the land of she's the master and everyone must do her bidding. She sees Buffy as a tool while congratulating her work and now she sees Tara, her lover, as only being there to make her feel good. Sick thinking.
Willow just got so myopic that season. I guess the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
08/09/2012 09:49 am
New chapter, yay! Still enjoying this story and checking the site like a maniac for updates.
Glad you like it! I'll try to make the chapters happen faster, I promise!
08/09/2012 01:42 am
The sad thing is you want to think that Willow is OC, but she actually behaved this way in cannon. And don't get me started on Xander. Good chapter.
Thanks so much. Willow did need a serious smackin' for pretty much all of season 6. And I've been wanting to smack Xander on and off since, oh, season 1. I mean, he's a necessary character, but he aggravated me regularly.
08/09/2012 12:52 am
I love this story. Please update soon.
Thank you so much. I hope the next chapter won't take as long.
08/09/2012 12:18 am
Tara and Anya = the voices of reason. Shame about Willow and Xander, although Xander is at least partly amenable to reason. Not looking forward to Willow's attempts at a 'solution'...
Yeah, but if Willow didn't try to solve things her way, the story would be boring...
08/09/2012 12:17 am
Those selfish self-centered jerks. They really don't care about anyone but themselves. Both of their girlfriends are telling them to leave things alone and they can't do it. Anya has centuries of experience with other dimensions and Tara has been practicing magic longer than Willow has even know about the supernatural. But for some idiotic reason Xander and Willow think they know better. I hope something really bad happens to both of them.
Willow's comeuppance will occur, never fear. Not so sure what I'm going to do with Xander yet, so you'll just have to stay tuned.
11/17/2012 09:43 pm
“You really love her, don’t you?” he stated flatly.
“Yes. Same as you,” Spike replied.
“I doubt that,” Angel said with his usual arrogance.
I really doubt it too... Spike loves her more!
As always! Loved it!
Thanks ever so!

Willow's rape of Tara never stops being creepy. *shudder*
I notice that while everyone else talks about fixing/changing Buffy, Spike tells Dawn they'll fix the world. Part of his grandiosity, maybe, that he thinks he can; but also a sign that he recognizes that there are very real reasons why the world would be harsh for Buffy, even if she were aware of the reality of it.
I agree with Spike -- she's afraid and traumatized and has some kind of amnesia. Plus something like aphasia or some other inability to communicate fluently. But she's not crazy.
(Half my captcha is kanji, and I have no idea how to translate/transcribe it.)
I definitely thought Spike, of all of them, had the most definite grasp on what Buffy's reality was. I mean, he wasn't perfect on the show, but only he seemed to get the clue.
Glad you're still following the story!
07/29/2012 02:39 pm
Angel won't be an enemy then, good. He don't like it but he accept the situation.
One less pain in the neck to worry about.
07/28/2012 11:43 pm
oops ignore previous "text"! Anyway, good update - Willow is the type here who will do what she wants no matter what anyone else says, trying out her forgetting spell on Tara and thinking all is fine could mean she will go ahead with her own plans? I like your Spike - Angel confrontation, Spike spoke a lot of sense and Angel actually listened, going back to LA is a good move, less trauma for Buffy with him gone. Let's see what happens next!
LOL, I'll take text from you any day Mazza.
Glad you liked it! Willow will definitely be up to more mischief before the day is done.
07/28/2012 01:43 pm
Willow will never listen to anyone and I fear things are goig to get a lot worse for Buffy. I thought Spike's words were very telling, especially when compared to Willow's -- We’ll find some way of making this world somewhere she wants to be. I promise you.
Thanks so much for the review. It is a different mindset - fix the situation, rather than fix the Slayer.
07/28/2012 12:35 pm
Aargh! Willow's power trip certainly isn't over. That worries me. Poor Tara. Good that Giles is reassessing his opinion of Spike. And Angel is off out of the away to L.A. Excellent.
Glad you like the way it's going. I was worried that Giles was too out of character, but apparently it works for my reviewers!
07/28/2012 01:15 am
Like the way you used Willow's forgetting spell and that you showed that Angel really does love her even if he's a big goof. LOL at the two of them arguing over who gets to dust a vampire.
Glad you liked that! I could totally see it - Hey! My fledgeling! Hands off!
I have two boys at home. I can write guys arguing very, very convincingly from long exposure...
07/28/2012 01:00 am
I'm glad Angel is gone but then there is that other problem called Willow. I just can't see her stopping and that's bad for Buffy.
Yeah, Willow's got some more annoying behavior to come, alas. But that will make things interesting!
07/28/2012 12:57 am
Poor Spike. But the Poof is off his back at least. This is so hard for everyone. I hope Spike is right and the wheels start turning soon. Good to see that Giles is rethinking his position on vampires.
We shall see where the wheels of fortune take us. (I like to think of the wheels of fortune as being attached to a very nice sports car...)
07/28/2012 12:28 am
Yay, Angel's gone, he's finally doing something right. Now I can focus all my hatred on Willow. Looking forward to more.
LOL, don't want you to have to distribute your hatred too widely.
Working hard as I can on the next bit!
07/28/2012 12:15 am
Everyone doubts Spike. Do they not remember his history? I mean seriously 100 freaking years with Dru. If that's not love and devotion what is? Especially considering how crazy Dru is. I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach about Willow. What she just did to Tara is bad. It's rape. But what ever she is planning in her head is going to be so much worse for Buffy. I can see Dawn and Spike getting hurt, possibly even physically hurt by a deranged slayer when Willow does what ever stupid spell she is planning. Figures, Angel runs away again. So what if Buffy can't stand the sight of you right now. You stay and help on the sidelines if that's what needed. But that isn't Angel. If he can't be front and center it doesn't interest him. That's where Spike and Angel are different. Spike did the harder thing staying after Buffy died. Angel ran so he didn't have to face any of it. Spike stayed, looked after her friends and sister. Forced himself to stay in a town that reminded him of Buffy on every corner. Went into her house that probably still smelled of her. That was a far more painful and difficult thing. Anyone can run off to "get their head on straight" staying is a sign of true devotion and love. No matter how painful it was.
And Willow has some more stupidity up her sleeve, let me assure you. Because Willow stupidity makes for more interesting reading (and writing!)
11/17/2012 09:26 pm
That was so sad! I hate that Buffy had to experience that hope and feel it being ripped away. The 'discussion' between Angel and Dawn though was awesome.
I did feel a little guilty about subjecting her to that. But it was necessary.
07/29/2012 02:28 pm
I really liked Giles in this chapter.
Yeah, I decided to make Giles do the right thing. Glad you liked it!
07/24/2012 12:19 am
I'm really enjoying this story. The dynamic of Spike, Dawn, and Giles as Buffy's protectors, with Willow (and maybe the Scoobies?) as a threat to her is an interesting one.
I understand why they aren't, but I can't help but feel that the kindest thing to Buffy would be to "send her back." One can't even really say she's suicidal -- she just doesn't understand why she's not in heaven. One thing I think the show fell down on was showing how different her situation was from anything in real life, and it's quite obvious here.
So glad you are enjoying it!
And you have grasped the dilemma. The best thing to do would be to kill her and send her back, but everyone loves her too much to do that. Even the slayer of slayers can't slay 'er!
07/23/2012 08:16 pm
Great update. Xander and Willow are so clueless, I hate the fact that they have any influence over her situation at all. They're the ones that did this to her and they think they have the right to continue to play with her life..Grhhhh. Angel needs to leave, he obviously doesn't want to take the time to help her. He's just given up, as usual. At least Gile's appears to be acting in Buffy's best interests. Can't wait for more.
Angel needs a little more talking to, and then I think I'll kick him out. :-)
07/23/2012 05:43 pm
I always found Willow disturbing in the argument she has with Giles during Flooded. She was just so puffed up with power and arrogance in this scene, and you really captured that here in this chapter. I think it's interesting that this argument took place in front of the others. I hope that it frightens them into really seeing how the magic has changed Willow. Everyone was in their own worlds in this season and it really bothered me that no one seemed to notice how much Willow had gone off the deep end until it was almost too late. And who doesn't love some Angel bashing? Fantastic chapter! =)
I think the conversation did frighten Tara, but the memory wiping game that Willow likes to play is going to slow things down a bit. They were all sort of fractured into their own worlds that season - part of what I like about that season. Glad you liked the chapter! Thanks so much.
07/22/2012 01:02 am
Great scene in the Magic Box with Giles and the gang. It is good to have the reaction of the others to Willow's actual spell as she did hide from them the true actions involved. I like that Giles is aware that Spike is somehow important to Buffy and is backing him being there. Hooray to Dawn for calling Angel on his history of killing - why this was always accepted is beyond me, while it was always cast up about Spike.
Willow really did gloss over a lot, didn't she? And yeah, why is it that Angel gets a pass for his past mayhem, and Spike doesn't?
Thanks so much for the review!
07/21/2012 04:06 am
If I were Giles or Spike, I'd be strongly considering some sort of charm or talisman to protect Buffy from unwanted magical spells being cast all over her. Willow apparently still hasn't figured out how to leave well enough alone. I'm glad Tara reacted the way she did and I hope she will at least attempt to make Willow open her eyes - whether she's successful or not, I dunno...
As always, an excellent chapter.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the feedback from a writer who's work I enjoy immensely.
07/20/2012 12:43 am
Oh the hubris of Willow! You've done such a great job that she's making my blood boil, I dearly hope she's gets what she deserves... along with the rest of them. They don't seem to realise how Buffy is really destroyed.
There will be, well not sure if there will be blood, but there will be retribution, never fear.
07/20/2012 12:09 am
great chapter - loved how the scoobies are all at each other's throats and the soul spell was wonderfully painful. I would have liked to have the rest of the scene where Giles rakes Willow over the hot coals for the details of the spell as the reacations of the others when they find out what she really did. Excellent
I thought about dragging that scene out, but some things are better left to the reader's imagination I think. Glad you liked it!
07/19/2012 08:51 pm
Thanks for another great update. I'm really enjoying this story. I hope you're doing well. It's been a while since we've spoken. I wanted to point out a tiny error, which I'm sure is just an oversight.
He was loathe to inflict more magic on the poor thing,
The word should be loath, as to be averse or reluctant to do something.
Ack! Who snuck that e in there?
Thanks for the after the fact beta help. I sometimes think I should work harder to find a good beta, but then it seems like too much coordination. Socially inept, that's me!
07/19/2012 07:41 pm
I really stopped liking Willow in early S6, and this self-important, arrogant attitude is precisely why. You have that exactly right. Poor Buffy....
Thanks so much. I was starting to think that maybe I was overdoing Willow a bit. But then I went back to the transcripts of the season 6 episodes and, yeah, she was actually that arrogant. Oh well, makes her more interesting.
07/19/2012 07:38 pm
I really want bad things to happen to all of them. And as much as it pains me even to Tara. She of all people should have looked into the spell. She is the true Wicca in the group and resurrection has to have gone against her beliefs. Giles needs to let go of inner clenching when ever he sees Spike and Buffy together. She needs love and understanding and no tension even subtle tension.
Of course Angel would suggest a institue. He is that callous he really likes the quick answer. Oh prophecy says Buffy dies at the hand of the master. Oh okay. Buffy's crazy right now toss her away. As long as he doesn't have to actually do anything.
Some bad things are going to happen, never fear. But I am still working out how, and to whom!
Glad you're still following the story though!
11/17/2012 09:12 pm
The story is definitely starting to pick up speed. Love the little moments where Buffy tries to convey herself, because her dveloping understanding is just gradual enough to be believable and still clearly moving forward.
So glad you still like it!
07/22/2012 12:45 am
yay Giles is here, I hope he starts to trust Spike and work with Dawn and Spike, and that he doesn't let Angel influence everyone against Spike.
I think Giles will come out a good guy in this story. But you never know with my brain....
07/15/2012 12:17 pm
It was probably a good thing that Giles saw her like this, that made it clear how much Spike is helping her. Giles will be a big help and it seems like Angel won't make things worse at least, good it's more interesting if he's not just another problem.
Angel and Spike have some more discussions to have, but I think Angel will end up being the least of the worries.
07/15/2012 10:46 am
Great update. It's god to see Gile's back, at least he seems to be more interested in Bufft's welfare than scoring points at Spikes expense. Let's hope he can knock some sense into the others. It's like they're squabbling over a toy. Looking forward to more.
I like that phrase - squabbling over a toy. May have to appropriate that someday!
Thanks so much for the review!
07/13/2012 10:45 pm
Ooh bumper long chapter. Good to see Giles willing to give Spike the benefit of the doubt but for me the peek at Angels's thoughts was the cherry on the cake... what a self-important berk! Love it.
Glad I could satisfy your reading needs! Thanks for the review!
07/13/2012 02:41 pm
I like this story very much. I want more. Update soon.
Thanks so much! I am writing as fast as I can!
07/13/2012 11:27 am
As usual, a masterpiece of a chapter, with everything I love: Buffy, Dawn, Spikre. I like the little family unit they've got going. It's nice. And yay, Giles is not an ass in this story, he actually listened to Spike and agreed with him. How nice. Looking forward to more.
Thank you so much for the kind review! You are so encouraging.
07/13/2012 04:29 am
Great chapter! Looking forward to Giles giving Willow a good kick. He's not going to do the Giles betraying thing, is he? Cause that would be bad (and fun!)
There will be a good willow smack down coming very soon!
07/13/2012 03:15 am
I don't get the feeling that she's really insane. Traumatized, yes, but she doesn't really seem to break from reality and go somewhere else, so much as not recognize or remember her surroundings.
Either way, I can't wait to see the next chapter.
The insanity I think is more perception by the others rather than actual fact. You can see the thought process of the scoobies: Not recognizing us + attached to Spike = must be insane. However, she does sort of believe herself to be in hell, despite evidence to the contrary. But your review gave me a good idea or two, for which I am quite grateful!
Hope to have the next chapter up soon.
07/13/2012 02:07 am
Oh thank god. Giles is being reasonable and level headed about this! I can only hope that he finds a way to stop Willow in her tracks because I don't think she is done messing with Buffy. Not by a long shot.
Xander he will probably try something just because he is an ass.Tara is too upset to even think of doing anything to Buffy and now that she knows where Buffy was she wouldn't anyway. And no one listens to Anya. Angel is a wild card though. He hates Spike so he might try something, but he cares about Buffy so he might not.
Ok, I have tried to reply to this review three different times now, and keep getting stupid errors!
Anyhow, Willow does have some more meddling to do before we're done. I'm still debating on what Angel will do - there are so many possibilities! Hope to have chapter 10 up soon.
11/17/2012 08:49 pm
Glad that at least Anya and tara are showing real sense now. Angel was too jealous and it makes me happy to see Dawn call him on it.
Tara and Anya always were the sensible ones, although Anya's sesibleness was tempered by that whole vengeance demon outlook
07/13/2012 03:00 am
This is such a great hurt/comfort story, as well as a reimagining of Season 6. I'm really intrigued to see how you've managed to weave elements from the show into the story (Tara and Willow confrontation, for example).
Thanks so much. I liked so much of what the original writers did that I love using bits and pieces of it in my own work to lend authenticity.
07/11/2012 12:11 am
Oh wow! I don't know what else to say. Just wow. I cannot wait to read more. Please update soon. I love it so much!
Thanks ever so! I am really glad you're enjoying it.
07/09/2012 09:03 am
Super update, loved the Spuffy bonding. Given Willow's betrayal she should move out, don't see how leaving for a night will solve anything. Looking forward to more.
She should move out. But we might have to wait a while for that. Glad the bonding pleased you.
07/09/2012 08:55 am
At least Tara and Anya are understanding, Angel hates Spike to much or he could be understanding. It will be interesting to see how you make Giles. When he will see her she will still be broken so he should be understanding. He will probably be a bit sceptical about Spike, but he should be able to understand, or not, just have to wait and see.
Hey, have you been hacking into my computer? :-)
Giles will be arriving soon, and we'll see how your predictions play out.
07/09/2012 02:49 am
Love brassy Dawn and waiting patiently for Willow to get her butt kicked and I teared up when Buffy asked Spike to take her back.
I am still pondering the best butt kicking scenario for Willow. But thanks for the review, which spurs me on to contemplate violence...
07/08/2012 10:47 am
At last Tara has stood up to the others, though how much notice they are really taking is another matter. Loved the interaction between Buffy, Spike, and Dawn, very autentic. I'm really enjoying this and look forward to Giles' arrival.
Giles will be arriving shortly! Just let me get his baggage through to the claim area....
07/08/2012 01:41 am
Such tenderness in the scene with Buffy,Spike and Dawn, beautifully written. And remember housework = only dull women have immaculate houses! We need you more, honest.
LOL, I agree, that immaculate houses are boring. However, going to work naked gets you more notice than you'd like from the boss, so laundry must be done!
Thanks for the review as always.
07/07/2012 03:19 pm
Willow did so much damage. Buffy is finally back to where she was in the first chapters. Please, please continue on the path to more progress. It's funny that Spike with his gentle soothing tones is so totally the opposite of his reputation. And the others, except Dawn and Tara, seem to be oblivious to the cacaphony of noise their voices create.
Well, there may be setbacks, just warning ya!
07/07/2012 01:43 am
Can something disfiguring happen to Willow? It's all about her isn't it? Her feelings and wants and needs. She can't pack a bag and spend the night some where else for one night without making a thing about it? It isn't her house and she is hurting the person who's house it is. And Dawn nailed it on the head when she said Angel was jealous. He figured he could ride to the rescue and he wasn't the knight in shining armor this time and it pisses him off. Xander made Dawn cry. For that alone he should get warty boils somewhere personal.
The scene with Dawn and Buffy in her room broke my heart. And poor Spike, Buffy wants to die and he's right he technically would be doing the right thing by letting her go back to heaven but he can't. It would kill him and Dawn to lose her again.
I hope Giles is on board with Spike staying with her. She doesn't need the stress. As much as Giles doesn't like Spike he is usually a practical man.
'He should get warty boils somewhere personal.' I think I may need to use that line the next time one of the higher ups at work irritates me, LOL.
Sorry to break your heart. But Giles should be more or less on their side. Which is good, because they need all the help they can get.
11/17/2012 08:37 pm
I don't feel sorry for the Scoobies or Angel at all. Poor Dawn though, that was one big shock.
LOL, love your reaction. No need to feel sorry for the Scoobies. They had it coming.
07/02/2012 09:37 am
And nom they know. What will Willow do now? she's a real danger. tara and Dawn will be supportive, maybe Angel too. He did seem like he just wanted to help but he dislike Spike very much. Anya won't see a problem with Spike being there. How Giles and Xander will handle this, well they can go both ways.
There will probably be danger on many fronts, as Angel probably won't be cool with Spike, and Willow has magic issues. But you will just have to wait and see...
07/02/2012 01:24 am
This is a brilliant fic! I can't wait for the next chapter.
Thanks so much! I will try my hardest to get the next chapter up soon.
06/30/2012 10:58 pm
Great chapter. I am so glad that Dawn went to speak with Spike. Also, I am glad that the fact that Buffy was in heaven was not drawn out. I thought stupid Angel left town, I hope he leaves soon but I am sure that he won't because he believes he is the one Buffy really wants. I can't wait to read the next chapter. I was checking everyday for updates on this story.
Thanks so much! I hope to have another chapter up in a few days.
06/30/2012 09:20 am
I kinda of want to push Willow off a cliff, accidentally of course. And if she happens to be mortally wounded from the fall, well that wouldn't be so bad either.
See what you have me doing? Contemplating homicide.
LOL, sorry if I have corrupted you into evil thoughts. But nothing like a good evil thought when you're stuck in traffic, say. :-)
06/30/2012 08:51 am
Oh at last the voice of reason and yay in front of everyone! Hah, the long overdue putdown was all the sweeter for it, just as you promised, in fact it couldn't have been better. LOVE IT!
Thanks ever so much, Lou! More is in progress!
06/30/2012 07:18 am
This is amazing. I'm so glad you're still writing.
Thanks so much. I promise never to leave a story unfinished, no matter how long it takes!
06/30/2012 02:32 am
Well it's about time that the Scoobies finally realized what they did to Buffy. I can't wait for Giles to polish his glasses and get there!
Thank you! Working on getting Giles there as soon as I get this laundry done!
06/30/2012 02:30 am
I love this story. You have some great insight into how each and everyone of the characters in Sunnydale. I really like how Willow's dark and controlling natrue is coming out in small brust.
Thanks! I really like how the original writers gave Willow that little dark edge in season six. Gives us fan fiction types so much to work with!
06/30/2012 01:08 am
I want to squee with delight, you had Dawn do the right thing and get Spike back, and then he managed to irritate Angel, how much better can it get! I am looking forward to Giles arriving as well to add his thoughts to the whole matter. Thanks for the update and glad to hear there may be more sooner rather than later.
Thanks so much, Mazza! I am working on getting Giles there as we speak, er, type.
06/30/2012 12:52 am
How many hours was she trapped in that nightmare unable to wake up!? Where the hell is Anyanka when you need her? Cause I wish Willow was never able to perform magic again and every bad thing that ever happened to someone because of her spells happened to her!
At least everyone knows what is going on now. And I hope it really sinks in for them what they did.
I don't know what Angel is going to do but if he gets in the way I hope Buffy dusts him.
I'm still deciding what Angel is going to do. Hopefully various beatings will be administered, but I am not sure.
The idea of vengeance demoning Willow is intriguing. Have to hold that thought for later....
06/30/2012 12:41 am
GREAT CHAPTER! Loved Dawn taking charge. Loved how Willow continues to keep skunking Tara. I can hardly wait for the big fall out there. and who couldn't love Spike getting in some digs at Angel.
Yeah, Angel is kind of a big target, isn't he? I got really annoyed with him as the series went on, although he did sort of redeem himself in the very end. Never could understand why he didn't help out more (well, other than the whole weirdness with the networks)
06/30/2012 12:36 am
Yes, Spike and Buffy reunited again. Please update as soon as you can. I want to read more.
Thanks so much! I am working as hard as I can on the next chapter, I promise!
06/30/2012 12:23 am
Fantastic chapter! So much got "solved". Willow is scary. Like really scary in an insidious way. Kudoz to Dawn for standing up for big sis. And I enjoyed the Angel-bashing, as always.
Thank you! I hope the next chapter doesn't take so long.
11/17/2012 08:26 pm
Serves them right!
Now if there is anyone who can figure out that when Buffy says 'Angel' she means Spike, it's Dawn... wonder if I'm right!
You shall have to wait and see (Buahaha)
06/26/2012 10:26 pm
ooh great chapter - poor poor Spike, disinvited by the "we know best" friends! Here's to someone finally realizing that Angel is not the one.
Hopefully that realization will not be much longer in coming. I have been in an internet void for days. Having...BSV...withdrawal....
06/21/2012 08:05 am
Wellwritten emotions, I even felt a bit bad for Angel, he was just trying to help her.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the encouragement.
06/21/2012 06:59 am
I feel so sad for Spike and even more so for Buffy those Scoobies really know how to make evrything worst.
Hopefully you'll stay with me - things will get better eventually.
06/21/2012 03:28 am
Nice nice treat for the end of a long day. Too bad B didn't rip Angel's head off. I suppose you want to dangle him around for a few more chapters. :)
Yeah, sorry, but I have to draw out the agony a bit longer...
06/20/2012 11:15 pm
I love all your stories, including this one! You do a great job of writing the characters. You're right on target with the for the late-series, know-it-all Scoobies and I love the way you have Buffy finally take steps to put them in their places.
In this story, I'm in pain reading of the Scoobies' audacity to take Buffy from Spike's safe place and then all the damage they're subjecting her too. What ponces! And Willow is especially arrogant, stupid, and damaging to Buffy as she continually subjects the Slayer to spells to paralyze her or put her to sleep.
Loved that Buffy gave Angel a smack down and felt grrrr regarding his arrogance to call Buffy insane because she didn't fall at his feet.
Keep writing! Looking forward to see how Buffy eventually gives them a come-uppetance. And hopefully to more of Spike pushing back on the Scoobies too.
THank you so much for the thoughtful review! Spike will be coming back soon, never fear. Sorry to cause you pain! I promise to try to soothe it next chapter.
06/20/2012 09:48 pm
Thanks so much for the upsate. I her reation to Angel. Oh, how I wish Spike could get to her though I'm sur you have something in the works. Have a safe trip.
Thanks! And I totally have something up my sleeve, just wait.
06/20/2012 07:04 pm
Wow that was great. Angel getting the shit kicked out of him is always of the good. I can't wait to see who's going to find out where Buffy has been. My guess is that it will be Tara.
You'll just have to wait and see... (buahaha)
Don't worry, I won't make you wait too long.
06/20/2012 06:32 pm
Smashing chapter with the Scoobies are all reacting so true to form, they really are the pits, every one of them... grrrr, and especially their treatment of Spike. High point for me was Angel's smackdown, it will be all the sweeter when Spike finds out about it and hopefully it will go some way to soothing his understandable hurt.
Thanks so much! Glad the smackdown pleased you.
06/20/2012 06:31 pm
I liked the chapter, but a little less because I don't like Angel and I am starting to hate all the Scoobies because they are completely stupid. Please update as soon as you can.
Well, I had a reason to bring Angel in, as you will see soon, I hope. I think the Scoobies will start to redeem themselves eventually, but no guarantees. I'll do my best to speed up the updates!
06/20/2012 06:00 pm
Not fair I think spike should be there. I have only skimmed this chapter because really want spike to be there. But please continue.
I will! And Spike will be back very soon, never fear. He's only gone for a moment.
06/20/2012 05:42 pm
Great to see Angel getting knocked about for a change, she didn't kick him hard enough for me. Really think someone needs to call Giles before Buffy ends up being turned into a rat.
I promise to smack him around a little more before the end of the story. But we need to get there first.
06/20/2012 02:44 pm
Tee hee - loved Buffy's reaction to Angel! I hope Dawn or Tara is going to think of bringing Spike in - after all Buffy clung to him...
Never fear, help will be on the way next chapter.
06/20/2012 02:30 pm
Those stupid children!!! I am so mad I could kill them! Poor Spike and Buffy this is breaking my heart. Those idiots can and do screw up everything they touch. They don't even realize that every time Willow freezes Buffy she scares her even more? They have no idea what it must be like to be awake and paralysed in her own body? Hopefully Buffy will run away and find Spike and he will be sober enough to understand that she is calling HIM Angel. That he is her Angel for helping her and keeping her safe. Maybe between Dawn and Tara they will actually help Buffy unlike Willow and Xander who only hurt her all the time.
I love this and can't wait for more!
So glad you're enjoying. Don't worry, Spike and Buffy will be reunited, but I need to draw it out a bit...
11/17/2012 08:18 pm
Oh that's so not good!
I'm not sure if it's better she called Spike Angel to her friends and Spike didn't have to hear it and misunderstand with them... or maybe its much worse, because well, you know!
Anyway! this is yet another brilliant chapter.
Thank you so much!
08/09/2012 03:35 am
Wow, such a good story!! And I love what you've done with the whole angel/Angel thing. My mind was working that way when you first mentioned that Buffy saw Spike as an angel. Can't wait to see how Spike saves the day...especially from that!! :D
Thanks so much! The whole angel theme just sort of fell out of nowhere, but it ended up being a major part of the story.
06/18/2012 08:02 am
Not good from the Scoobies. The only thing I can't blame them for are misunderstanding the angel comment. This will not be good. Poor Buffy and it's hard for Dawn too, and Spike will be so scared when he finds her gone.
Spike is going to be frantic, and pissed, let me tell you. Interesting things are coming your way, as soon as I get the next installment edited.
06/17/2012 02:13 pm
I'm so happy for the update. I've been waiting to see what would happen. You have writtne Willow perfectly, spiralling out of control and everyone following her lead. I'm so sorry for the innocents. The other's are going to be in for a surprise when Mr. Broody Pants isn't the answer. I"m wondering how long it will take Spike to make it over and if he will actually make it inside to help her. Thanks so much for sharing.
You are so welcome! I hope to have the resolution to all your questions up soon. I also rewatched a bunch of episodes recently while visiting a friend who has the whole collection, so I feel more confident about Willow's voice lately. Thanks so much.
06/17/2012 12:57 am
That was a beautiful chapter. I was worried you'd given up on this story. It's such a fantastic, original take on Bargaining, I'm really looking forward to more. And I absolutely LOVED every word of this chapter.
Rest assured, I am committed to never leaving a story unfinished, because I hate that! Drives me nuts when I get really into a story and I never see how it comes out. But I was traveling on business, so the updates took a while. Thanks so much for the encouragement - I will keep plugging away!
06/16/2012 02:40 pm
Poor Buffy, it's probably a blessing she doesn't know things are going to get even worse with this team of geniuses in charge. Tara is proving to be a big disappointment, I had hopes there might be one voice of reason but it's like she's been brainwashed. Can't wait for the next update.
Hopefully the next update will be up soon. Tara did sort of go along with the rest in the beginning, but I think she will be putting her foot down soon.
06/16/2012 04:07 am
Well, if she wasn't out of her mind earlier, tossing Angel on top of the lack of space will certainly not help. How unfortunate that she couldn't have called him Cherubim or anything else.
I really look forward to reading this through, and then coming back to re-read it.
Thanks so much! Although I really can't picture Buffy calling anyone Cherubim, lol.
06/15/2012 11:13 pm
Buffy's going to stake Angel right...please let Buffy stake Angel.
I haven't decided on that yet, but I think the story would be less interesting if Spike had to argue with a pile of dust.
06/15/2012 11:08 pm
Typical impatient Scoobies, always assuming they know best. Spike is not going to be pleased when he comes back and discovers they've taken her. And of course Buffy isn't asking for Angel - sending for him is only going to make a bad situation worse - assuming he's back from that monastery. More please...
No, Spike will not be a happy camper, er, vamper? Anyhow, I hope to have the next chapter up soon so you won't have to wait too long!
06/15/2012 09:06 pm
Oh, shit. Well that went exaclty how I thought. A big huge screw up. I hope Spike shows up before Angel! Maybe Buffy will call him her Angel and get everything straightened out. This is breaking my heart.
If everything went easy for them, there would be no story, alas. But you know me - everything usually comes out ok in the end.
11/17/2012 08:08 pm
I have to say that this disconnected/innocent version of Buffy is kinda interesting, I mean I can't wait until she starts remembering more, but her outlook on the surroundings is rather fascinating.
I did find it fun to write that way. It was a challenge, but definitely made me think
08/21/2012 03:44 pm
I am loving this story. I think you write Buffy's thoughts in a very beautiful and believable way. I can't wait to read more.
Thank you so much! Read on, MacDuff!
06/16/2012 04:18 pm
Good to see some improvement. I just hope it continues without interference from the Scoobs. And I hope Buffy won't be too hard on Spike.
Well, you know the Scoobies need to get in there. Otherwise, it would be boring....
06/06/2012 04:58 am
I really love resurrection fics. And you write so well. I found myself completely immersed in this, and definitely wanting more. Please update soon! =)
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate the encouragement. i'll do my best to update ASAP, but I am traveling and it's tough.
06/05/2012 03:05 am
Very sweet and sad. Can Buffy have a psycho episode and strangle Willow? Sure to be an audience pleaser.
LOL, that would be fun. But I'm not sure I could pull that off.
06/03/2012 04:35 pm
Ahhh...Spike reading to her...so sweet. Love the way post resurrection Buffy is responding to Spike.Of course, I do wonder though how she will feel if/when all her memory returns. Look forward to more.
Thanks so much. I am doing my best to get the next chapter in shape as soon as possible.
06/02/2012 11:17 pm
late to the party but glad I made it! Every time I have read one of your fics I always have wanted more at the end of each chapter and this one is no exception. Beautiful use of language and descriptions, and sonnets from Shakespeare - your writing is of the highest standard as usual. Spike is just the way he would be and the scoobies are acting like the idiots they could be (I exclude Tara from that as she usually seemed level-headed). I know you are good at updating - so I am looking forward to the next chapter soon.
Thank you so, so much! I hope I can get the next chapter up soon enough to keep you going, but I'm traveling so it may take longer than I'd like. Please be patient!
06/02/2012 09:56 pm
very interesting take on the story. i am really enjoying it! i sure hope she and spike win in the end over her stupid, awful friends!
Thanks for the kind review. I think she and Spike will win in the end, but I'm going to have to get writing to find out!
05/31/2012 09:51 pm
I loved the idea of him reading to her. That was great. I shudder at the thought of her being dragged away from him. I know you will make everything all right, but it's disconcerting. Thanks for the update.
You are quite welcome. I will do my level best to make everything alright in the end.
05/31/2012 01:49 pm
They are going to bugger this up big time. They just can't stand it that she is comfortable with Spike. It's jealously pure and simple. If they took one damn minute and watched how the two of them interacted they would see that Spike is always calm and quiet with her. Unlike them. They rush her and yell when they are near her. It doesn't even matter that Buffy knows that Willow is the one who ripped her out of heaven. They just don't care what is actually best for her or they would make sure she can stay with Spike one way or another.
I can see bad things happening if Buffy calls Spike "Angel" she won't be referring to Angel but knowing her friends they will call him. Spike will be upset thinking she wants Angel. And Buffy will think she angered Spike. Plus her friends are going to basically kidnap her! If she freaks when she sees them when she is with Spike what do they think is going to happen when she wakes up after they knock her out without him?! Stupid immature children.
I always wondered how much was jealousy, and how much was just rigidity of thinking. Their personal experiences had led them to the mindset of 'vampires = bad', and Angel becoming Angelus didn't help much. But yeah, they get a bee in their bonnet about something and no force on earth can deter them from their path.
I hope you're still enjoying, despite the Scoobies! :)
05/31/2012 12:05 pm
I like the story very much and I want to read more, so please update as soon as you can.
I am so glad you like it! I will do my best to update quickly, but I will be visiting the Land of No Internet (my dad's house - the man won't touch a computer) so updates will occur if I can locate an internet cafe somewhere!
05/31/2012 11:51 am
Excellent progression. Shame that Spike didn't twig to Buffy's use of 'Hell', but I guess Willow had managed to convince all of them that Buffy was in Hell.
Thanks so much! I figured in After Life Spike shared that same delusion unitl Buffy enlightened him, so he could have the same misconception here.
05/31/2012 10:44 am
Taking her away will not be good. She will freak out and calling after "her" angel and the Angel the other will bring won't help.
All of this is true. But therein lies the tale...
05/31/2012 09:17 am
Poor Buffy is so frantic, it's really well done. Bringing Buffy home might well help but not by knocking her out! Tara needs to talk to Spike as Willow will do what Willow wants anyway.
Thanks so much! Willow did have a headstrong streak a mile wide in Season 6 as I recall.
11/17/2012 07:55 pm
Aww! The moments between Spike and Buffy were so adorable, you can't possibly imagine how wonderful I found them to be.
Also Willow deserved that!
The more I read the more I'm looking forward to seeing everyone finding out about her not being in Hell.
I am so glad you liked it!
05/30/2012 04:50 am
loved the part where Buffy strangled Willow. Perfect! can't believe W is going to do another spell. Jonesing for another chapter already.
The wait is over - just posted chapter 4
05/28/2012 04:47 pm
There's such sadnes and emotions, the broken Buffy and how Spike reacts to her. Willow gives me a very bad feeling. She will try something bad but I hope Tara can help.
The plot thickens, doesn't it?
Hope it doesn't make you too sad. Thanks for the review!
05/27/2012 01:54 am
This is a cracking read. I think it's the Scoobies who've all lost their minds, even Tara.... what an absolute bunch, they're like the Four Stoogies. Run, Buffy, run... with Spike of course.
Thanks so much for the encouragement!
05/26/2012 11:27 pm
Tee hee - Willow totally deserved that. Poor Buffy. And of course the first thing they do is turn to magic to make it all better. So bloody impatient!
I can't believe that they're still not going to tell Dawn - and Giles. Oh wait. Yes I can...
Dawn and Giles will find out eventually, but there is more Scoobiness to wade through first.
05/26/2012 11:09 pm
Thanks for the great update. I'm sorry Buffy couldn't get to Willow. I guess tha's rather awful of me, but what Willow did to her on both counts was pretty horrific. I'm looking forward to your next chapter.
Thanks for the review. I guess strangling Willow would be fun, but it would wreck my plans for the story. My next chapter may take a little longer - gotta travel to a business conference!
05/26/2012 09:04 pm
This really isn't going to end well. Why in the world can't these people wait a few damn minutes. They want results immediately and screw the consequences! She is starting to remember she just can't put it into any context.
Exactly. Willow always had an impatient streak a mile wide...
11/17/2012 07:40 pm
Nice! Can't wait to see Willow put in her place (I always thought she got off too easily and fast from pulling Buffy out of Heaven).
Yeah, she desperately needed a smackdown for pretty much the entire 6th season.
05/26/2012 05:44 pm
Good original start. Love the fact that Buffy thinks Spike is an Angel. Something tells me that X & W aren't going to want to leave Buffy with Spike, but that she is going to cling to him... I sense a very painful, confusing time coming up for Buffy - and possibly some magic trying to 'fix it'.
Thanks so much. I was worried that this had been done to death. But apparently, it appeals, so I'm psyched!
Thanks for the encouragement. And you're right - Willow and the magic will be making an appearance. Or two. Or three...
05/26/2012 03:43 pm
Wonder how this little visit is going to turn out...
It won't be boring, that's for sure!
05/26/2012 01:22 pm
I look forward to Willow seeing what she's done to Buffy, I expect she'll want to magic it all better.
Oh you know it. Can almost see her point. I mean, right now if I could use magic to clean my house so I could spend all day writing, I certainly would!
05/26/2012 10:13 am
Super update, looking forward to seeing how Buffy welcomes the Scoobies.
Thanks! Hopefully you won't be waiting long.
05/26/2012 03:40 am
Oh Spike, you crazy vampire...Why, oh why, did you have to go and phone the Scoobs? They just mess everything up. Lol.
Yeah, but the story would be less interesting otherwise :-)
05/26/2012 01:39 am
My, i'm sure Buffy hearing Willow's voice is going to go over like a lead balloon. I hope she'll be able to stay with her "Angel." I'm sure Spike would love knowing that was his new moniker.
Yeah, Willow's voice isn't going to be real welcome, let me tell ya...
05/26/2012 01:33 am
OK this is one of those stories you want to read right thru. Please don't let the scoobies take her away. I think buffy should really not want to go with willow.
Hopefully Chapter 3 will be up soon so you can see what happens...
05/26/2012 12:50 am
So confidant in themselves. Idiots. They are going to drag her away. Or at least try. I have a feeling she will keep running back to her "Angel". I just hope she doesn't call Spike that! It will hurt him thinking she wants Angel not knowing that isn't how she meant it.
We shall see, gentle reviewer...
09/24/2016 03:06 pm
ABout my previous review...looks like Dia upgraded the platform and it messed up a LOT of stories. I"ll try to read this one when it is fixed.
09/24/2016 02:56 pm
I'd love to read this one but there is a big problem with the text. It isn't possible to just read it without trying to decipher what the words are. Hope you can fix the text because the summary is intriguing.
11/17/2012 07:31 pm
Although her calling him Angel worries me more than a bit... when she calls him that out loud it's gonna hurt, I just know Spike's heart will be all wounded. On to that then :)
Ahh, you are on to my little plot device...
05/30/2012 04:34 am
Hope B doesn't call him "Angel" that could turn out badly. Very sweet start. Hope Spike tears off Willow's head in the next chapter. :)
Eh, the story would be too short if Spike tore off Willow's head too soon :-)
05/26/2012 12:12 am
Don't leave her Spike! If she wakes up without you there she is going to freak! He should grab Dawn and the three of them should run until Buffy comes back to herself. Her "friends" will only make things worse. Let's face it they will cut him out and she needs him right now.
Glad to have you back as a reviewer!
Buf if her friends didn't make things worse, the story wouldn't be as interesting... ;-)
05/23/2012 03:12 pm
This is exactly the sort of tale I love, can't wait to read more. I can just imagine how the Scoobies will react, this can't go well for Spike. Buffy is sure to call him Angel... I just hope he doesn't explode!
I'm so glad you're interested. I will do my best to keep the chapters coming!
05/23/2012 11:58 am
Please write more. I liked this chapter very much and I want to read more. Update as soon as you an.
Thanks so much! I will update as soon as I can.
05/23/2012 10:25 am
I'm hooked! Loved the way Spike took care of her. Looking forward to more. You're off to a brilliant start.
Thanks ever so! Hopefully I won't keep you waiting too long.
05/23/2012 09:08 am
A very strong beginning with the emotionel chaos and pain that was forced on Buffy.
Thanks so much for the review! I am encouraged to keep going.
05/23/2012 06:15 am
Oh, this looks great. I'm looking forward to reading more.
Thanks so much! I've been working on it for a couple of weeks and finally got around to posting. Hopefully the chapters will go up quickly.
05/23/2012 04:57 am
Lovely start. Spike is being so sweet, making her feel safe.
Thanks for the encouragement! I wasn't sure if this had been done too much before.
