Damn....you are one talented story teller!!!

I wish I had time to tell you just how powerful this story is and how much it sucked me in and affected me...  It had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation.  It was a romance, a spuffy and a mystery story all rolled into one satisfying package.  I spent a long time worrying that Giles was the bad guy... the suspense was... terrifying.  Excellent work, and if you know anything about me, you'll know I don't use that word very often.

wow! a very different take on Season 3 and Faith,loved it tho.and Willow being the very anti-Spike one instead of Xander was a nice change,plus the way you protrayed Spike's confusion over his love for Buffy and Dru was just amazing.

Great to read a story with such a wonderful treatment of characters and such a great plot. I would have liked just a tiny bit more exploration of Angelus' stay in LA or his Hell, especially since he comes back with his soul still attached and so much of Angel was predicated on the ensouled vampire vs souless evil vamps.

Oh great update... I love how buffy put willow in her place. I do feel very sorry for her though - she did lose Oz and it would have to be hard to even think about giving his murderer a second choice. as far as magic is concenrned though she has no care. *hugs*

Finally! Buffy needed to let all that out and boy did it need to be said! I can't wait to see what Spike's reaction is when they get back into the room!

Excellent telling of both retributions! The Buffy/Angelus fight was very reminscent of S2 and reminded me of Angelus' reappearance in Angel S4. Spike & Faith's ending was well conceived. Where is Giles while all this is going on? He seems to have disappeared, I would have thought that he would be trying to help Buffy take out Angelus, especially if he heard the remark that Angelus made about killing Joyce! I am loving this story more and more with each chapter and you just keep me guessing! I can't wait to see how it ends!

I've got the feeling Giles is there at the behest of the Council to do in Faith and is cool to Buffy because of her disappearance. It seems Giles is seeing things in Spike that surprise him and he may well be in Spike's corner when it is all over.

Wonderful chapter! I loved Giles' compassion, which is kind of an odd way to feel considering what he allowed Spike to go through--but apparently there was no other way to maintain Faith's trust...and Giles wasn't terribly thrilled about the whole thing either. I also loved Buffy's response to Spike's "freaking out" episode, allowing him to have control for a change. Enjoyed it thoroughly, as always!

Well its good to know that Giles is not really on Faith's side but my god, poor Spike! Even with not remembering (as it seemed that he didn't when he was talking to Buffy) that phrase threw him into a panic! Oh dear! Just as I was shouting out "Yes! I KNEW it was Angeus, the b@st@rd!"....you had to make me really nervous about Giles! Naughty, naughty girl you!

Exceptional chapter filled with suspense and plot movement. You have made it quite believable for Faiths accomplice to be either Angel OR Giles (or both for hat matter). I think the biggest threat was Willow and her hatred however.

Poor Spike is really in a nest of vipers and now Buffy will be torn over her "love" for Angel and her growing feelings for Spike. Wowza.

Oy vey! Buffy's stay in LA did not do anything for her ability to judge people and their actual intentions. The Wankers' Council must have succeeded in training a mindless killing machine. The story is still scary. And you added Angelus into the mix.

Oh poor Spike, just what he needs....Angelus added to his lethal mix! i'm still betting on him being Faths little love toy....they always did connect and he has reason to be angry with both Buffy and Spike.

Willow is liable to mess them all up with her nearsightedness where Spike is concerned. So intent on revenge against Spike, she might just miss the real threat!

Excellent update (Spike may be in more danger here than in Belonging! At least there only Riley wants him miserable and dusted).

I liked very much the interaction between Willow and Spike, and as I see it, yes poor Spike, but bad Willow can also be used as a great weapon against Faith...Just lets hope that Willows anger goes against the one who is to blame (Faith) and not Spike. Nice chapter, I don't really think that it's Giles that's her secret partner since Faith said that they thought her partner was dead in an earlier conversation. Could be wrong but that pretty much eliminates Giles from my list of suspects.

Great last couple of chapters. I love Buffy's urge to comfort Spike, Dawn's response to the half-naked vampire, and the wonderful surprise of Giles.

Hmm sometimes things just don't make much sense. I mean Vampires got superhearing and all and still he gets jumped when doing the spying thing, I really find it hard to belive. Sure if he had been daydreaming or something and not paying attention but he was on edge and doing the whole thing carefully and still not able to sense when she came around. I mean he's been spying on her for a while now and knows how insane and paranoid she is. I hope you got some sort of good explanation as to how she managed to sneak up on him. Aside from that I like this story and I'm interested in what happened to Giles, is he around or what?

Well Spike is only out for vengance for what Faith did to Dru, I'm curious about how you will make it spuffy hopefully it will be a good thing and not feel forced. I'm loving this story so far although I don't really see Faith as the evil type, she always came across as sort of lost and just looking for a place to fit in. For the story to work I guess Faith has to be evil but I don't really see it, not in this situation.

Faith's desperate sadism combined with a position of power has done frightening things to her. I can see why Spike feels the need to tread lightly around her. It will be interesting to see how Spike manages to allay her suspicions, if at all.

Just read the last two wonderful chapters. I like Willow's coldness in response to Buffy. Willow more than anyone depended on Buffy's cues for guidance. Xander had some experience being on his own. Buffy's response to her mother's death was true and harrowing. I like her conversation with Spike. You write both characters very well.

Excellent chapter exploring just why Spike is playing servant to anyone, let alone Faith. Very believable and harsh. Explains his motives for wanting Buffy back quite well.

I read the first chapter yesterday and meant to comment, oops. My brain must still be on vacation. After reading chapter 2, I'm glad I waited. Your writing, as usual , is superb. Which is why chapter 2 really, really depressed me. I also read some of your responses. I'm glad that you let readers know that everything is not always as it seems. I can't wait for more chapters. I'll take any nugget you want to throw. Just promise to make Faith suffer, ALOT!

I can't even bear to think that Spike might have killed Joyce. That's just ... I just can't see it. Your writing is excellent as always, but I think I'll need to wait for a few chapters to be out before I read again. this is another wonderful story. your writing is so great. it evokes such deep emotions and is just so beyond well written. i really like the idea for this story. i gotta tell you that it was a bit hard to read faith and all her awful sadistic actions. like - phew! she was so damn evil that i couldn't quite get a grip on that. you write evil really well. hopefully not from personal experience! and god - willow was damn scary too! thank god xander was decent in this one. ooooo and giles - leaving spike at faith's mercy like that - greater good be damned! i really like the way you write buffy in this story - no ambivalence on her part at all - damn right! i'm glad that she gave it good to giles, even though he had helped. and giles took it in as he should with "as you wish buffy". Thank you so much for writing this deeply absorbing, riveting story and for letting buffy and spike be together.

Faith without restraint is a scary idea! Love the story, love the concept. Not to quibble but didn't Spike fulfill his part of the bargain by helping stop the torture of Giles and clearing out the riff raff while Buffy took on Angelus? I thought that was all he was to do then get Dru out of the way and out of town? Whatever, what IS important is that this is one fine story. I look forward to daily updates and THANK YOU for that blessing, you make me ashamed of my tardy WIP updates of late! Kathleen

I have to agree with the others--you're a fantastic writer--I'm sure I made the comment on Saving Grace about the way you bring out the characters and our emotions. I know things aren't as they seem. But I need an update soon!
