I liked the Spike and Buffy walking in on Willow and Joni scene, Willow had every right to be scared... hurting Joni is definitely a no-no. Interesting stuff going on around Joni, I can't wait to find out what happens in her life next! Great chapter!

Loved learning this... “Homer” was, she had no doubt now, he was the manifestation of a vampire’s soul; of Spike’s soul.
Could he have been pulled from Heaven? It was the only thing that made any sense.

Poor Buffy, you did a great job of conveying her insecurity, hopefully she'll grow and become the mom she wants to be. Interesting plan Oscar has regarding Liam, I hope it works. The Spike/Joni interaction was so beautifully touching as always. Loved the chapter!

I read in a review a few chapters back that a sequel to this could be a possibility. I just wanted to let you know, I really hope you do! I admit that I really don't understand this story and it confuses the heck out of me, but I still do enjoy it and like the 'verse.

I absolutely adored Prayers For A Poet, but felt a bit... cheated, when it ended. It seemed like I survived all that angst, just to finally make it to the good stuff, and instead found the words 'The End'. So, I was thrilled when you made the sequel to it, but slightly dissapointed when it just... fast-forwarded so many years ahead. It was like, but wait a minute, don't we even get to see a day with them together before the tragedy strikes? Which reminds me, if there's anyway i could talk you into a one-shot of the time period immedualtely after 'prayers For A Poet', I would love you forever!

I'm also not usually too good with new characters - it doesn't matter who it is, I just never quite fall in love with them the way normal people do. So, i may have read through that one a bit too fast.

But with this one, I'm realy struggling. Not with staying interested, just with understanding what all exactly is going on. Maybe it's just too deep for me! haha!

the only other thing I would ask if you go ahead with a fourth, is that ican you give buffy a little of the lime-light too? I don't really know how to say it. It's just, it's kinda like in all three fics, 'Spike is injured, Spike is hurting, Joni only wants Spike, Spike is emotionally tortured, Spike's the only one anyone care's about', you know?

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be so negative. I do love your fics. i just sometimes wish Buffy could be more than just the one that sits around worrying, not knowing what to do, you know?

i realize that most of the people on this board tend to not even like Buffy & prefer to see hero/tortured/to-the-rescue Spike, but i'd just really love to see Spike set around and actually worry about her for once in his life, instead.

Just started reading this story, and the ones that came before. Have to say, I love it! Very inventive, imaginative, and tender. Spike's reaction to how long he was gone was very convincing, much more so than what they did on the show with Angel. You've made your own world with them, and its great. Can't wait to see more.

hi! it's me again... soo, i'm still a little confused. Homer is a version of Spike, correct? but is he the human side or something? is that why Spike was so out of it before? and why has Homer aged so much? has he been (where ever they were) for that long a time?

On one hand he needs his revenge for Diana's sake, but he owe's so much to William and brother Spike and he needs some knowledge that Liam has to help his brother. So exciting, wonderful twist FMS.

Poor Buffy, she has so much on her mind, her upcoming talk with Joni should be very interesting. I enjoyed Oscar's insightful musings, loved the Dru twist. Wonderful chapter!

Oscar's truly an interesting sort...a "free range" vamp that had no sire to mold him into something else...his plan is really all about *teaching*, isn't it?

I'm sure Joni heard lots of stories over that time...

Thanks for the giggle, the way you put the "box monster" took me back to the very beginning and the bit of innocence the show first had, when it started. Surprised Spike didn't feel her panic through the claim, but if he had, we wouldn't of had that beautiful moment. I just love this connection that they all have, though not the circumstances in which they're connected, just make's the fic more fascinating. Yeah, maybe the good-for-nothing Liam may have a Christmas miracle still waiting for him, even if he doesn't deserve it. I feel alot sorrier for Oscar then I do Liam. Oscar was a loving husband and father and Angleus changed his life forever, long before he was turned. Fantastic chapter, thanks.

The regard that Oscar feels for William shows through. First with how Oscar didn’t think William could survive the sight of how he found Diana, and yet he did, and then with him taking care of (if I understand this correctly) Oscar’s wife after Oscar was turned. I like how Oscar is making Liam take a look at his life and who he really is. His question on if Liam is worth saving was an interesting one, and I was somewhat surprised at Liam’s response. Thanks so much for the update, I really enjoyed it.

You have to just love how Spike found his voice when Buffy needed him the most. The new info we learned in the flashback makes everything even more interesting. Oscar is so blinded by his pain and need for revenge that he seems to be forgetting how big Spike's heart is, like Joni says her Daddy is a Prince who saves people, even if they don't deserve it like Liam. I look forward to finding out what happens next. Wonderful chapter!

I think I like Oscar. For the most part Angel really hasn't had to face what he's done. Most of his victims aredead and Drusilla is too broken to seek revenge on him.

And he's really reaching by trying to say that the things he did were to survive and were done without thinking. Drusilla alone is evidence that he put thought into what he did to people . Not to mention (i think it's canon) him going on about the art of the kill.

Don't know just what Oscar thought he would accomplish by letting them know that he had him. Spike is so far inside his own mind that he couldn't look for him even if he wanted too. Love that Joni's so in tune with her father. I do hope that Spike and Buffy do find out that it was Angel that took Joni and sent Spike to hell for hundreds of years. Great update, thanks.

very good read, thank you. had been sympathizing with oscar, in part because of the tale, and in part due to an extreme dislike of angel(start in season 1.) not sure the picture was the in keeping with his revenge plans, seems cruel.

I still feel so sorry for Oscar and the pain he and his daughter went through at the hands of Angelus. I like that Angel is feeling some of the terror that he put Diana through. I love how Joni is helping her dad and that Spike knowledge that she would never lead him astray. I love what Georgie wanted to do for them and that she arrived to the family laughing together. Thank you so much for the update, I really enjoyed it.

The contrast as well as the information given by Oscar to Liam about where Spike had been really added to the impact that the other scenes left with me, and the ending with Jonina seeing her parents then slipping away particularly touched me. It's so great to see Spike and Buffy connecting. The exchanging of the ring was so romantic, and heartwarming. I enjoyed looking at the Spuffy moment through Joni's eyes. As for Liam he deserves what he gets, but i'm kinda worried that Oscar knows a little too much about Spike. Loved the chapter! :)

OMG! Angel stole their daughter! I hope Oscar torture's him as much as he deserves. What a revelation, that evil S.O.B. and he had a soul! This time he doesn't deserve to live. Even if he was turned again and reensouled, he'd still be the bastard that stole Buffy and Spike's child, so I say kill him! Hey! I'm just saying! Exciting and tender chapter. Thanks for the update. I really love the closeness of Buffy and Spike, that even though Spike doesn't recognize the words he can still read that she wants to reach him and that Buffy can tell that he has faced horrors and that he needs her. I am enjoying the terror Oscar is putting in 'Liam'. Thanks so much for the update, I really enjoyed it.

The Spuffy interaction was so bittersweet, i'm glad Spike has Buffy and Joni on his side to help him through this ordeal. Oscar sure is playing a great game of psychological torture, his closing line must've really hit home for Liam. Fantastic chapter!

Whoa! What an unexpected twist! I never would've guessed what fate had in store for Liam Donovan, the flashback was perfect. And Wow! That was one amazing kiss, the Spuffy love scene was wonderful. Excellent chapter!

I loved how perfect the characterization was with Buffy forgetting about the time difference. This chapter made me cry, first with how overwhelming Buffy’s pain and grief was and then when Spike found and comforted her and how beautifully perfect his first word was to her. I’m glad that Buffy realized that him relearning how to talk is going to be like a child learning. Thanks so much for continuing this wonderful story.

LMFAO I've never responded to a response to a review before, mainly because I don't want you to think you have a new story review only to find out otherwise (although I guess this does inflate your numbers, so yay.) But i HAD to. Cause I totally get what you are saying about: "I loved it, and I wrote it."

Like we shouldn't really like something if we wrote it, but I know completely what you mean. Sometimes writing feels like channeling and the plot twists and turns can sometimes be just as surprising to the writer as to the reader. heh.

I love that Buffy realized that it is going to be a long and difficult road but that she is determined to see it through. Spike’s protective instinct towards Joni is so sweet.
