very good read, thank you. love your joyce. was greatly enjoying the chapter  until the appearance of the btp's champion. that made me nervous (and nauseous) until i recalled on which site i was reading this fine tale.

No, don't let Spike just assume he's lost out to Angel. Buffy doesn't even know Angel, feels nothing for him, and she knows what Spike feels for her and how he has been willing to help her in so many ways! Maybe Spike will lay low and mull over his insecurities for a few days and give Buffy a chance to compare Angel's methods to his and figure out who she likes better... I'm trying to find a bright side, but I'm so worried about Spike! Don't let Buffy let him go and hurt him! And who cares about who was supposed to be there? Make your own destiny!

God, I so didn't see that coming!  In hindsight I probably should have -- he didn't stay dead in canon either.  This is going to put a bit of a wrench in things, innit?

Heh. When Spike first called out to Amber, I thought he was trying to feminize Xander. Then I thought Xander would of course be attracted to Amber, with his demon magnet problem and all. So, my brain went off in a totally different direction...

This was a great chapter, with lots of ups and downs for Spike. Still love your Joyce, and Willow was great fun, as was Amber. I am very worried about what's going to happen now, though. Will his training of and history with Buffy make all the difference? So far, it has, but with the PTB involved, it could go wacky!

you can't be serious, please tell me you're not going to change things and have buffy end up with angel?  are the powers really that stupid?  do they not know what happened after buffy and angel hooked up?  they want him to end up losing his soul and go on a killing spree?  she's better off with spike, i really hope this isn't going where i think it is.  i was finally just starting to like this story.

I believe the saying is: "Oh noes!"  Angel always increases the tension in any Spuffy story.  I'm pretty much never happy to see him there, but he does serve a purpose.  I actually enjoyed the character far more on his own show.
