Oh I feel so sorry for them all, but if Dawn didn't go out it most likely would not have happened.
Sooner or later Sam would have got to her. Going out on her own just made it easier for her.

Thanks again.

Wesley leasing the house across the street, is a great idea. Just a few steps away. I love that Wesley's here, putting teen mags. for Dawn with flowers is so sweet. Why is Giles here already? Guess I'll find out. But that dream they shared and Dawn's lashing out at Spike, so painful for all of them. Can't wait to read more. I'm staying up again waiting out this stupid TS Ernesto, not much for winds but they always cause tornado's. We're lucking out. Fabulous chappie, great read.
Well, I just hope if you're reading online you've got surge protection, though even better if you stay lucky and miss the worst so you don't need it. I'm having a last coffee before I abandon the computers and do a water change on the fish tank, then it's a bath and after that I have to get back to writing or try to skim a week worth of LJ and then back to writing, so there may be another long delay and then another clump of replies a few days from now...

Yeah, having Wesley close at hand seemed like a good idea, both for him in terms of not being isolated, and in terms of him being near to hand when he's needed... and since they're always saying how difficult it is to offload property in Sunnydale it seemed reasonable to assume that after The Order of Taraka episode, a house where there had been a murder would sit empty.

Glad it's giving you something other than the weather to think about. Thanks, honey!

Poor Spike - another brilliant chapter - loved the dream and how Dawn is acting out with her pain. very realistic and excellantly done!
Thank you, honey!

I'm afraid there isn't really a quick fix for this one, but if anyone understands it'll be Spike, even if that doesn't make it hurt any less.

oh wow...i felt that just like spike, like a knife to the heart...but poor dawnie, i really cant blame her...it's such a painful, awful situation.... on to read more now *sigh*
Thanks, honey!

Like you say, you can't blame Dawn, but it doesn't make you feel any less sympathy for poor Spike, either.

This story is off to a running start. More story soon please.
Hee! Thank you! It looks to me like you still have 10 chapters of catching up to do, but there'll be more tomorrow, and the day after that and the day after that...

Ouch - poor Spike. Dawn is hurting him more than she can imagine.
Does this mean the series has creeped out of your 'completed fics to be read whenever you have time' file?

Fortunately, though it won't make it hurt less, Spike can at least understand how she feels.

very good read, thanks.dawn is hurting, but she just lahed out at the one who is hurting almost as much as she is. thanks for the great read.
Thanks!

Yeah, it's one of those things we do when we're in pain and there's no way to take things back later.

Ahh got to feel for Dawn but oh poor Spike *sob*
Thank you, honey!

As you say, Dawn really isn't thinking clearly, but there really isn't much she could have said to make him feel worse.

Good things and bad things...such emotion in this chapter. From the "awwww!" of Dawn curling up with her family, to the funny of Anya interrogating Wes and jumping al over Giles, Wes considering putting down roots, and then the nightmare and Dawn speaking without thinking of how it would come across. Poor Spike - the only way he could keep her safer is to never let her out of the house and his sight, but that's just not realistic, and he and Buffy have been doing the best any parents can.

I hope Dawn gets some help dealing with the trauma soon. Family can only do so much when they don't know how best to help.
Yeah, Dawn can't be blamed for lashing out under the circumstances, but...

And I love Anya, something that has just intensified with writing my Giles/Anya series of ficlets (not posted here for obvious reasons).

And as family goes, Dawn's right... In essence she and Spike have both been raped, so I think he's in a better position to help than most.

Thanks again for all your comments.

That's what I get for having too many windows open at once...
