A fluffy interlude set somewhere around early S6 Spike and Buffy are NOT together, and no mention of Buffy’s death is made. Spike makes his animal magnetism known, but not in the usual way.

Set in season four just after Giles has recovered from being turned into a Fyarl demon by Ethan Rayne. Spike has now moved into his crypt and happens upon Buffy fighting a strange looking demon. He is enjoying the brawl when the demon sends out a weird beam of light, which hits both Spike and Giles with quite dramatic consequences. Following Fool for Love. Buffy is sitting on the porch steps, crying about Joyce’s illness when Spike arrives to kill her. But like lots of his plans, things don’t go quite as he’d hoped. But then things are going to change for everyone very soon.

Spike, Angel, Gunn, and Illyria are battling the hordes of demons and one big stinking dragon. When all looks lost, what will they do to save the world? **Author's note** Italics=internal monologue.
