Chapter: Chapter 4

Great story, i wouldn't worry about the last name bit.  Angel also doesn't remember his own.
And Pratt didn't come from Joss, it came from a terrible Spike comic writer named Peter David that used it to humilate Spike in his comic.  And Brian Lynch went with that and used it.  For me it's non-canon, Joss never said that that was his name.
I never knew that!  I thought Joss had named him Pratt.  I never thought it suited, especially with the background he was given on the show in 1880.  When you say it was Peter David, it makes sense.  He wrote one halfway decent Star Trek novel, then a whole slew of bad ones.  If it was him, that's non-canon for me.  And I'd forgotten that Angel doesn't remember his own.  Now I know what to say if anyone asks me about it. *g*  I'm so glad you're liking the story!  Thank you!

Another great chapter!
Oh Xander, why did you have to call Angel? I mean, Xander hates Angel, so why oh why? Then again, maybe he wanted to rub Spike shashued in his face. Okay, that makes much more sense than Xander actually concerned. lol
I've decided I'm in love with William. He's a sweetie, plain and simple. I'm in love with the demon too, but for the same reasons Buffy wants him. lol
I'm assuming the change in last name is significant somehow, even if I can't figure it out. And okay, how do you forget the last name pratt? A hundred years or not, pratt is a British insult right? You'd think Angel would remember every little thing he could insult Spike with.
So the demon part has a soul? Interesting.
I love where you're going with this! It has me guessing! Can't wait for more!
Xander wanted to rub it in.  *g*  He'll be mentioning that in Chapter 6.
William's a sweetie all right, but Buffy needs some monster in her man, right?
In Britain, prat means one's ass.  Joss probably picked that out to explain why Spike's so cagey about revealing it.  I thought the PTB would indulge his reluctance to have it known, which was my reason too.  He was Dru's knight, so why not that?  Angel's forgetting his name was to demonstrate how little he thought of Spike back when he was Angelus - he couldn't bother to remember.  Anyway, that was my reasoning. :)
I'm glad you're enjoying it!  Thank you!

Hee! I suspected a Jekyll/Hyde arrangement. Verrry interesting.

That recklessness, that wicked, volatile mockery that had called to mind the lethal, dangerous Spike who had first come to Sunnydale was still there—the demon. But something else was there within the velvety black smoulder of his pupils, a softness that reminded her of the Spike he had turned into towards the end.

Had it been there all along and she hadn’t seen it?

Yep. But I have a feeling all is not lost. ;-)

So much for me being Agatha Christie, huh?  *g*  I'm so glad you're liking it!

I am completely and totally in love with this story. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm so very curious and interested in every single aspect and twist. I can't wait for more :)
Oh, thank you!  This one was tricky to write, but so much fun.  I'm so glad you're enjoying it!

I figured it out. The invite worked for both of them.
Yes, it did.  :)
