This was a challenge response after Season 3 when we found out Spike was coming back. The challenge was to write something fun that involved a circus. It certainly is FUN.

Buffy comes to Los Angeles to visit Spike and Angel and brings with her a secret that could change the course of their lives forever.

SUMMARY: Response to Challenge #3 by Shehrezade - Post Chosen and The Girl in Question Spike ditches Angel in Rome and goes after Buffy.

I wrote this to post for Seasonal_Spuffy. It starts during the Season 2 episode "I Only Have Eyes For You"; and is my idea on what would have happened if Spike had observed Buffy and Angel's meeting in the school. This story begins five years after NFA. The new Angel Investigations gets a new client that threatens to tear the team's world apart. There is action, drama, a few killings, slayings and your basic brutality. There's also love and sex. Be prepared, though. Spike has relationships with others besides Buffy. But it's a Buffy/Spike story, I promise.

What if when Buffy first arrived in Sunnydale, instead of a souled Angel meaning to help her, she was faced with a soulless Spike, looking to cause trouble and kill his third Slayer? Goes off canon – School Hard. Since the Bronze, Spike finds himself entranced by the Slayer, deciding to capture her. However, a battle of wills ensues: as Buffy becomes desperate to escape the blonde vamp, she begins to find him attractive, just as Spike finds it increasingly hard to kill her. Both look deep and find new power and new feelings that previously were unthinkable. Dark fic.

Set in S5. It's Halloween on the Hellmouth. And this year, evil works overtime.
