After the episode "Destiny" in AtS Season 5, what if Spike had gotten on the boat that took him to France, looking for Buffy? But there are certain people who don't want them to connect. How far will Spike go to find the woman he loves?

Spike doesn't just take Drusilla and leave when he sees that Angelus has her cornered in 'Becoming pt. 2. Instead he decides to stick around and help the Slayer out a little more, and ends up having his unlife changes forever.

This fic was earlier being witten by fallen_angel as Buffy Diaries/There's Something About Spike. She's given me permission to finish the fic because she's unable to. The first 4 chapters are hers, the rest will be mine.

Post The Gift, Spike is dealing with Buffy's death, but it's a little hard when she won't leave him alone.

Pretty much AU all the way, for obvious reasons. Starts in S4 at the beginning of "Goodbye, Iowa" then takes a quick turn to S1. Spike learns not only to be careful what you wish for, but also that when you swim in the Nile too long, you could drown. Written for the seven_seasons LJ community innagural season.

Summary: The battle's done and they've kinda won, so what now? After Chosen, Buffy hears a tale from Xander that alters her direction and they both are left with ghosts of all those "I'll never" moments now that never has occurred.
